Ren & Stimpy Buckeroo$ SNES 100% CIB Value?

Comments

  • still 1k is alot of money way outta my price range
  • It's an extremely rare game with an even rarer poster. I bet the one that sold for $1000 wasn't listed for long before being bought. I'm still kicking myself for passing up a box w/poster for $500.
  • Why is it so rare?
  • Protip: never take listed prices as "value". Only sold units.

And usually rarity is caused by low production numbers.
  • OP ... you're not the only person that's trying to get CIB SNES games, and quite a few of us have been at this for a decent amount of time. The 1000$ auction that was linked was a VERY good price when you factor in that it had the poster IMO. It's not something you see very often if ever. The person that bought it was right to do so at that pricepoint.

The only poster I can immediately think of that's similar in rarity to that may be the 3 Ninjas Kick Back one... (although to me there's a few others that I think are dang close that don't yet have the pricetags to reflect it but that's a different discussion)...

yeah. I just started with CIB SNES. My wallet hurts.
  • I don't envy you guys, but I commend you good sirs. I am waiting for some mail as I just passed 100 SNES games CART ONLY. No way could I do CIB
  • That's an interesting situation. It was a rental title, but had a pack-in poster. So what generally happens to posters and such when the game is put out for rent? Just left inside the cardboard box? Hung up in the rental store as a way of drawing attention to the game? I once purchased a bunch of used N64 titles from a stripmall video store, and they re-shrinkwrapped their boxes with all of the original (non-cart and booklet) contents inside, and they'd been sitting on the shelves the past 15 years. But was there some kind of... routine Blockbuster employees would go through?
  • I've only got the box, I'm screwed I should just sell it!

Good luck finding the poster for less then 1000$ (or more in trade)!
  • I didn't think it was a rental exclusive

honestly I'm not sure how much of that is actually true. That includes Hagane, Flintstones 2, Sculptors cut, etc. Has anyone ever come up with proof that it's true? Doesn't really make sense from a business standpoint, unless Blockbuster was paying out the ass for the exclusivity

Doesn't matter if it was a rental exclusive or not, it's still near impossible to find a copy CIB w/poster, hence the price point being what it is. It's easily top 5 rare posters on the system IMO. I breathed a sigh of relief when I got ahold of one earlier this year.

You want to talk scary, try finding a Fun N'Games with a good condition manual/box for what you'd consider a "decent" price.

The TL;DR of this thread really being: if you're not that far into collecting SNES, just go cart only and save yourself the headache and hassle. If I was going to start now and lacked the top 5-10 boxes/manuals/posters, I'd just go cart only personally.

Do you think your poster came from the $999.99 CIB? lol

I miss the good old days when a seller actually came to me with a really nice CIB Fun 'n Games for under $35

At least the Fun 'N Games poster is just a generic one found in several common Tradewest games. Thank goodness!

And also thank goodness posters still fly under the radar for the most part.

    Maybe.

But I'm ok with the trade I did, and I'd do it again. I wanted to knock that off the list and it accomplished that.

It's sort of funny to me that this thread exists, and hopefully the OP takes my advice and either really thinks long and hard about going full-on CIB... or "settling" for cart only (and saving his sanity and check book in the process).

True. I wasn't kidding when I say that there are a handful of posters that are damn near impossible to find. Buckaroos is just one of close to 10 I can rattle off I think are rougher then most people readily realize that haven't gone down the rabbit hole of collecting paper for the system.
  • I'm not even a huge snes collector i'm just getting stuff I want lol. Only reason I want this so bad is cause I have the other games CIB

I'm the same way. you'd have to be some sort of lunatic to go after a CIB set in this day and age

Or, like I said, be far enough along that even the higher prices still aren't that huge of a deterrent.

It's also all relative in relation to the pricing. I'm more likely to drop money on something I know is tougher to find (from looking for certain things for awhile you figure out what is and isn't really worth the $), then I am something that's fairly common but pricey.
