All they tend to be is typical general use hard plastic cases with printed out cover art from various places on the web. Should be easy to find at anybolastic container webbsite

Do you know if there is a database for the cover art?
I think so, most images on the cover project are ready to print for them. I think UGCs are pretty much the standard most people go by, however there are different case alternatives. (I can't think of any off top my head, but if I can remember, I'll share)
If anything, get the case in first and measure out all the dimensions it would take for the insert to fit in that certain case and use those measurements to print-- just to be on the safe side.
Copy the art to a USB, go to a printing shop and have them print it for you on semi-glossy or glossy paper. It'll turn out great and it's roughly $1 for each print depending on where you are. They will also cut it for you too.
The UGCs are by far the lowest quality, and by far the cheapest. Shadowfox and BitBox are higher quality, though BB are the more expensive of the two, and take up a decent amount of space
Wait, UGCs don't hold NES carts? I would've thought that's like the most popular cartridge format. They should be called Limited Scope Game Cases.
I think it's a matter of how big NES carts are in comparison. You think of a way to have NES carts fit and still hold all the other games I think they hold SNES, Genesis and N64 comfortably. Atari 2600 fit loose, since they're much smaller
Yeah I had some universal cases and they didn't even want to get near holding the NES stuff and I was almost ready to start making an adapter for them to hold Atari games better and casting it in resin to just make a bunch at a time. In the end i just put them on a shelf. They've survived this long and they'll probably out live me.
I printed the N64 North American set for another user who already had the cases. if you buy the blank cases and need the prints at a pretty cheap price, send me a PM

Good luck!
edit:
Quattro = Shadowfox custom case
Mega Man = BitBox
Clear case = UGC
The Shadowfox cases are probably the all-around best
can get with or without artwork for a variety of systems, very nice.
are there any other options for a NES Hard case that's not the UGC? they don't seem to fit NES games without modifying them.
I forgot about this.
Ya you have to modify UGC's to fit NES games.
I bought an oscillating tool to do that. You can find them for $25-$40.

They universally hold a (loose) grip on several types of carts!

My shelf holds all of those carts and more, no modification required!
I keep em in the cardboard personally
