    Nice!  What was your secret?

This poster is really nice looking and unique enough to earn a spot on my wall, maybe even a custom frame.  I'm really liking this bonus but hope it isn't a new normal to handcuff people into DLC.  Although, you worked around it haha

I sorta know some of the gstop people since im in there often so i can usually talk em into givin me the bonus junk!
  • I'm really impressed with how huge it is. Gonna wait to open it until I find out if the game is worth owning, though. I've been bitten by Nintendo too much lately to trust their new games, and the fact that Fates was so trashy isn't helping.
  • Included in the Fates DLC was two complete games, one of which was released at retail (the alternate version you didn't buy a physical copy of) and one that formed the third story to accompany the other two (Revelations). These justified a near-full-price fee, since they were digital copies of entire games.

Meanwhile, I think it is foolish to advertise the Echoes DLC as a $45 package, since it inevitably draws comparisons to the price of the game itself, yet doesn't offer an entire new game. Hence, people are going to think it is a bad value for $45. However, if you actually look at what they are selling piece by piece, it is really several different kinds of experiences (grinding exp, harder dungeons, new stories, new characters) priced at $8 - $15 each. Thus, there is quite a bit of value there, especially if you only focus on what you are interested in. For instance, the $8 grinding pack seems least interesting to me, whereas the $14 story expansion seems best (of course, a "Revelations" caliber entire version of the game would be best).
  • Everyone that got the special edition line up single file so I can piss on you.
  • Well.. i went with amazon.ca for that sweet sweet 20% off, and i'm not so sure it was worth it. Of course those dummies sent it in a damn mailer, and of course it's side is crushed and creased. Guess i gotta hope ebgames got some spares...

Is that cool poster available in Canada or is it exclusive to the american branch of gamestop?

Of course. I drank a bunch of coffee today so you might want to be at the end of the stream.
  • Why ya gotta piss on people?
  • Mine shipped already. I'll wait until it arrives, but i'm pretty damn surprised that an extremely limited special edition popped up after retail, and was up as long as it was.
  • I would like to go ahead and say for anyone cautious like I was, the game is really good. I haven't had fun with a modern game like this in a few years. Definitely glad I purchased the limited edition now, because I have a nice looking collection piece to be proud of owning.

Guess I actually couldn't have lost either way, knowing how rabid FE fans are.

You cant go wrong with FE games. If you end up not liking it, easy to flip later for the same price or more in the case of a limited edition.
  • Had a good experience at gamestop. Went in there to ask about the print and they just gave me one. I was ready to buy a standard copy of the game or thr DLC, but they just handed it to me.
  • How is everyone liking the game so far? I'm having a great time with it! Around 12 hours in. Love the dungeon crawling elements! Story is pretty good so far! Feels more like a traditional rpg story compared to Awakening and Fates.
  • Just got my LE copy in the mail today. Luckily I have the next two days off from work to marathon this.

Am glad to see so many people enjoying this remake. The original game I always thought was massively overlooked by even the most diehard FE fans. It's rather amazing how large the series has grown within the past 5 years.
  • I picked up an extra copy of the Limited Edition if anyone still is looking for one. I ordered two because I had a hell of a time getting the fates LE in decent shape, they kept getting shipped to me in envelopes.

These both got shipped in boxes though and are in great shape.

So just figured if anyone wanted one at cost before I return one. PM me.
  • The manager at my local store used to be my supervisor. He called me and let me know they got the posters in and he got one set aside for me. Its now on my wall. Its pretty damned cool and unique.

Both my original with 7 damaged corners and my replacement that was crushed were sent in bubble mailers from Amazon.  After #2 I wasn't able to get any additional replacements because they no longer had additional copies to replace my damaged ones.

  • I'm really enjoying this game so far! I'm playing it on hard + classic difficulty and have not lost a single person yet. Of course, I only just went through the first campaign, but compare that with lunatic mode on Birthright and it's way easier -and frankly that's OK. I think this game will end up being one of my favorite FE games, although we'll see. By the way, for those looking for the LE, it is currently in stock at Gamestop (not that I like Gamestop, but it seems to be sold out elsewhere).
  • Totally forgot about this game. Happened to go in today and the worker said "you here for your fire emblem?" I said sure!!
  • This game is awesome! Little things like free movement at parts is a nice touch. Not as hard as conquest yet which is nice. I thought conquest was too hard at times since you really couldn't get much experience which forced you to only train a few core people.
  • Played a good amount of this now and I can safely say it's definitely not one of my favorite Fire Emblem's. Only being able to carry one item which includes weapons or healing items sucks. Leveling is damn near impossible. I'm killing enemies with higher stat points than my characters and I'm getting like 5 exp. When I finally do manage to gain a level, more often than not I get a measly +1 in a single attribute. I miss way too often, the pre-battle readout will say 90% chance to hit and I swear it's 50%. I miss ALL THE TIME!

I don't see myself playing this one again.

I totally agree with you on leveling up. Once you hit level 10, it is painful to level up and I swear it's usually just a +1 to HP after that point.  I've played the original game and understand the limited inventory then but not sure why they kept it.  I wou;d've been fien with adding breakable weapons too.  I also thought that it would be cool if they took the story and updated it with the weapons triangle and magic triangle.  Instead it's basically just magic and physical attackers and not too much tactics from a units/weapons management standpoint.

And despite my best efforts, Clive is terrible.  Terrible stats and misses every time.

  • I've dumped so many stat boosts into Valbar, as I usually like having one tank general. He is GARBAGE! He couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. He misses 90% of the time.
