I think it would be an interesting piece to own and be a cool unique item to have as a center piece if you are a video game slash hockey fan. Yes that is a small market
I dunno, a lot of Canadians collect video games
To answer the question, no. No it hasn't. I guess owning the original painting used for a cover is similar? There's a few people here who do that. I do think getting that exact jersey from the picture would be pretty cool though

I'm guessing the original painting price and getting those jerseys may be similar listening to Bronty and BuyAtari talk about the prices of those paintings that they have purchased.
I do this on a much smaller scale. Some of my boxed games have stickers or promo items in them that weren't originally packed with the game. I also bought the Final Fight Guy CD from the Super Famicom game to go with my American copy. It's kinda fun as you forget over time and then I'd a nice little surprise when u open them down the road.
I think it would be cool to have this Gretzky game framed with a home and away Kings jersey and maybe a hockey card from the year of release. It would get pricey though... Even for a frame.
I think it would be really cool and im not even a CIB collector. Would make for an awesome display. Ive looked at buying a signed mike tysons punchout and even signed gloves to go with the game in a display. Haven't pulled the trigger, but I eventually will.
I'd be happy to see it if you set it up but unless I was a huge fan of hockey, Gretzky, and the game itself I could never see myself dedicating so much wall space to Wayne Gretzky Hockey on NES. Maybe the jersey of one of the guys on the cover of NHL 94 on Sega CD
I think it would be mighty hard, if not damn near impossible, to authenticate if it was the actual jersey. They have so many game jerseys and practice jerseys for every season that look identical. That said, it'd certainly be neat if you were a Nintendo and hockey fan.
I don't think I would ever set this up, as a Gretzky jersey is super expensive to get, but just a fun thing me and my friend are doing as he is an avid NHL fan and loves his game worn jerseys, so is looking into it as we both talk to each other about new stuff in our collections all the time. So just something that connects our two hobbies together.

man, if only there was some kinda expert, a collector maybe, who would be interested in that kinda information. Same with video games, how the hell am I supposed to know what's real and fake? Who dedicates that much time into learning about something they care about?
Nowadays? Games are no longer CIB so a freakin' manual! It really pisses me off hardly any new game has a manual, thanks a lot tree huggers.
Its not "tree huggers", its the companies wanting to save money and a lot of games have tutorials built in
I wish they'd spend the extra $0.02 to give me a complete case rather than one with holes cut out of it at least. Really, I'll pay an extra $0.05 for that luxury!

I have never played this game, but it is supposedly quite bad, which makes it noteworthy in a bad way - could be a good conversation piece.
I wouldn't have jersey and game framed together tho, maybe each framed separately as the jersey is so much bigger than the game.

Also paper comes from tree farms. Reducing paper use doesn't save forests anyway.
