The Official NA Skateboarding Thread
I did a quick search before posting this and I didn't see an actual thread dedicated to skateboard talk. I know we had threads in the past with big discussions, so I wanted to make a dedicated thread. If I missed another thread, feel free to lock this one up.
I'm headed to my first demo next weekend, and I'm pretty excited. I grew up too far away from any city to attend one as a kid. A good chunk of the Element team will be there including Nyjah (or so it's been advertised).
And too add some more to this post, here's Real's latest Surveillance edit, featuring my guy Davis Torgerson and his Noooooollie over the street gap at San Dimas High School

The trick names are way beyond me now but I use to be able to all kinds of that shit.
I started skateboarding in grade 9, so like 10 years ago? I took a few years off to focus more on college and stuff but I've been dying to get back into it. Maybe if we have good weather this weekend. Just got a new setup not long ago, Youness' Almost deck with a graphic of the joker, maybe I'll take a pic later.

Between Torgerson and Majerus, we're doing pretty good right now, I'd say, although e got a ton of guys killing it.
For the years I did skate I tried so hard to emulate Rodney Mullen, that guy is just the epitome of fucking skateboarding to me.

almost round 3 is still the best skateboard video of all time. That whole team was always enjoyable to watch. Cheese and crackers is second best

Killian Martin goes to the local yearly freestyle contest in Vancouver. The one year I don't go, aka last weekend and Rodney Mullen is there. That's what I get forgetting it was coming up

I haven't skated in a while. Still follow it though. I've been lovin' the BATB X, although this year doesn't seem to be as intense as others.
Only at round 2 right now, it'll start picking up soon. Its already better than last year though. Im rooting for Luan, can't believe he still hasn't won one yet.

The game they posted with Joslin today was great. He's pretty sick. I just can't wait to see a game where they start pulling out the ridiculous tricks. Seems like a lot of the games I watch most of the guys are getting letters on stuff they could do 99/100 times.

yeah I really enjoyed that one. Tom Asta is good too, but I'm a fan of Joslin, hope he makes it far. Wasn't expecting that nollie inward heel revert at the end, that was dope. I wonder who's playing tomorrow
Admittedly, i didnt read this thread. I used to skate when i was a teenager and it was a lot of fun. I ducked up my ankle when I was 18 and couldn't bend it for 6 months. It sucked, but I've been scared to take up skating again since then. I'm 30 with a wife and child... It's a ton of fun but I can't risk hurting myself and not taking care of my family. It was fun while it lasted
that's totally understandable. I just don't do anything I think I can injure myself doing, I know my limits. That said I've been wanting to get back into it and have hesitated, not sure why, could have something to do with it. Damn responsibilities

I run at a high school track near my house, and they have a skatepark at the highschool. How awesome is that.

Very awesome. I would've killed for that in high school. I just found out the other day we have one up the street, hidden in a back road. I still need to check it out.

They always put them in the dumbest spots. When they finally built one back home, it was in the scummy part of town. Right near the dive bar and the hooker hangout.

Haha good place for skateboarding. When I was in highschool there was one about 20-30 minutes away, so if we were going we'd have to skip a class. My highschool was in a different town that where I was living, the one in my town was at the least busy part of town, about an hour skating from my house. When I was in college, I was going to intern at a print shop that also happened to have a skatepark in the building, didn't end up getting it unfortunately, I would've never left Now that I've moved to Toronto I have two or three that are a 15 minute drive max.
