  • Here's my haul.  All of those for $1-3 each.
  • I've been collecting for a little while but here soon I've been hardcore into it. The original xbox's graphics still blow my mind compared to the gamecube and ps2. I bought Cold Fear yesterday and am loving it so far.

Cold Fear is high on my want list. I have been buying every suspense/horror game I can find. I will have to pull the trigger soon...

Same here.  I'm finding it hard to locate those games here locally.  And really finding ANY original XBOX game is difficult around here unless I go to Half-Price Books.  Ironic the best place to get older games is a damn bookstore!  LOL

Dude!  You 100% absolutely need to do that.  All of ours around here (4 or 5 of them) have a decent selection of PS1, PS2, and XBOX games.  I've been raiding the clearance section for about 3 years and I've been able to accumulate hundreds of games this way all for $3 or less.     Post up what you find!  Next time I go in to some of mine down here I'll take a picture of the game sections.

    *edit*

I also wanted to mention the last few times I've gone the sports games I get are actually in near mint or mint condition.  You'll occasionally find that someone that just brings in an entire collection so if they took care of one they most likely took care of them all.  I got Madden 01 through 05 + 07 & 08 as well as NCAA Football 03 & 04 and 06 through 11 that way for the PS2.  And they were all almost mint.

I just left Half-Price Books and nothing. They must not even accept video games at my location.

i have a local bookstore that a lot of people trade games into. They have a scratched section where the games are $2-$5 titles. A lot of super good stuff in there. I paid $4 for Cold Fear in mint condition!!
  • Half Price Books is a must. A few weeks ago, I got a mint CIB NES Power Set for $100. I'll be making a trip back there tomorrow. I have enough 10% coupons for 2017 to go once every week. Also check the clearance section in the back. I've also gotten several WiiU games there as well
  • Just got back into Xbox a few months ago. Just need to get Outrun Coast 2 Coast and Steel Battalion with the controller.

Nice!  Good point about the coupons.     One of mine here had a near mint Genesis model 1 CIB for $100.  Didn't have that much $$ or I would of got it.

No Wii U stuff yet...only a matter of time though.

  • I went out game hunting yesterday looking for PS2 Xbox and Gamecube stuff. 6 months ago there were games everywhere for these systems. It's getting to be slim pickings even the common games are getting picked over. My cousin made a nice score. Someone had just traded in a complete set of Xenosaga on PS2. They didn't even put the games on the shelf yet. My cousin noticed them sitting behind the counter. He paid $50 for all 3 games.

I agree that GameCube and XBOX are getting scarce lately.  But I'm having no trouble with PS2 games in my area.

That's a great score on the Xenosaga games.  I'm looking to reacquire them...should of never sold them to begin with along with the Suikoden series.

  • I haven't found anything in a long time. Not seeing any out and about, but that's true for everything that's not a 360 or ps2 sports title.

I'm not really complaining, this will give me a chance to sort/clean/catalog my progress.

No worries.  Sometimes I think patience has its own rewards yea?  Definitely take the time to catalog, that also has its own rewards I think.

Oh no, I'm not worried about it. It's been kinda fun enjoying what I have and someday it will pick back up again.

  • It has been a while since anyone has posted. How goes the XBOX collecting?
  • Once in a while I find an original xbox game. I got a beat up console here and one or two. I actually scored like 10 ps2 games at goodwill last year. Most of them sports games sadly but still at 2.00 or so each. We're hitting them up again this year and not forgetting the discount coupon lol
  • Will XBOX collecting ever take off?

    I recommend Stubbs.

Nintendo has a collector base starting from 1985, Playstation started when? 95? XBOX collectors started in 2002. With my logic, the XBOX market is where the PS1 market was 7 years ago. 3DO and Sega 32X were worth very little while Nintendo still had a decent collector base and they exploded a few years ago. I could be totally wrong on all of this but I am trying to get all the games I want before the nostalgia market hits.

  • Eve of destruction always gets good reviews from those that have played it
  • Xbox is like the Nes for Microsoft. It's gonna be a classic and I hope it takes off with the amount of Xbox fan boys out there.
  • With Phantom Dust now on PC and Xbone, the list of good Xbox exclusives dwindles a little more.

As much as I like Xbox games, I'm never playing Morrowind or Outrun 2006 on Xbox when I can play them at high resolutions and framerates on PC. Price and availability is the primary reason I always see anyone collecting Xbox, not historical value or collectible genres or loads of games you can't play anywhere else.

Stubbs is still exclusive isnt it? Aside that I can't think of any actually

Stubbs is on PC too! At the time fancy PC games like Morrowind on a home console was sweet. Now that your laptop can probably run all those games better than an Xbox it's less exciting. The multiplatform console-only games are usually best on Xbox so that's a plus. I hate harping on Xbox because I do like it, but I don't get the mentality that because Goodwills are overflowing with cheap games no one wants that it's going to be somehow collectible and desirable in the future. Metal Wolf Chaos is the best exclusive and it didn't even make it over here.

    The land of the free.
  • Just got back with these from a game store going out of business. All are complete except Dragon Ball Z and Phantom Crash were disc only and the Universal Game Cases are empty. $69 including tax for everything. I had to just stop buying at a point. Didnt bother with any duplicates/most sports games/or anything not CIB.
