Any collectors here in Connecticut?

The scene here in Connecticut seems to be terrible. All I've found in this state are two or three quality resell shops, but they never have ANYTHING rare and often overprice most consoles. In fact, I was trying to find a new set of original SNES controllers the other week, and none of them had any. Is there anyone in this state who has found good flea markets/secondhand shops that have good selection and pricing for us?

  • I'm in CT, the Bridgeport to New Haven, part of it. Where are you? Are you referring to Game X Change or MJ's? I know there are several locations of both (5ish for the former and 2 for the latter) that are really hit or miss. I've made some good scores at Game X Change at least with their occasional off pricing or off labeling. I'm a fan of Retro Games Plus, they get in much more rare items with 3 locations. Plus the folks there know their stuff. For a retro store the pricing is fair I'd say. If they were charging old school flea prices none of these stores would have any stock. The hobby is pretty inundated now.

Have your tried Retro World Expo? It's on October. There's also Elephant Trunk Flea. Whenever I go I see one or two tables with games, though pricing is not what it used to be.
  • I'm in RI so a bit away from you CT guys, but there is honestly not much I have found in the area in terms of good flea markets, or shops. Everything is EXTREMELY overpriced. There is a lot of Toy Vault locations and another few retro shops, but I never purchase from them.
