  • Hello! What are you referring to exactly? I would recommend looking into an everdrive. Best bang for your buck if you don't care about the nostalgia feels of the carts.
  • Get an Everdrive/Powerpak instead of pirate carts. Pirates don't always work properly, and have shitty games, but the Everdrive route lets you play any game including new ones.

    Oh and welcome to NA.
  • The red super games 150-in-1, which is $15 or so in aliexpress, is definitely worth it. There is an issue with saving on Kirby, but it's a cheap great little cart!
  • i have thought about the everdrive and even have an emulator or 2 somewhere but i was looking more for the nostalgia of playing on the original nintendo.

what is the difference in the everdrive and the multicarts?

arent they both going to be pirated games?
  • Hello! Welcome to NA!
  • another question. do the original cheats still work on the multicarts?

since it is just all the roms of the games I would assume so.

I guess technically yes, still pirated. Everdrives you can change the games around if you want which is nice. Welcome!
  • change around how
  • welcome aboard!
  • Welcome to the site!

An everdrive has rewritable memory that you can swap new ROMs on. Say you put some games on your everdrive, and then you realized you forgot one. Well, you can just add that to your everdrive. It also works the other way around. Say you try a new game and realize it's just not fun for you to play it. You can take it off and put a new game there or just leave the memory blank.

  • Welcome to NA there buddy!
  • Welcome!

There's a few problems you could run into with multicarts (though they are pretty neat to collect) -- Sometimes the games won't support save files except for maybe 1 or 2 games, or 1 game at a time, etc. The compatibility could be low on devices other than the basic native system. Chances are some of the games are based on Chinese ROMs/ROMhacks and could be glitchy, not fully translated, or just plain strange compared to what you're used to. Sometimes the games are split into several games, each 1 level each. Getting back to the game select menu can be buggy and weird.

Those are just a few of the challenges you might run into. They are more of a curiosity than anything.

So yeah, go get an EverDrive! They're awesome
