the number of screws on a NES cart...
I don't know much about this. so what is the deal with like, 3 screw, 5 screw games, i know it is the number of screws on the back. but like, what is the difference, what makes what better you know? what games have different amounts of screws. because just looking around and stuff at my nes carts, i saw that some of them didnt have the little latches on the tops but instead had 5 screws, such as giromite, duck hunt, kung fu, kid icarus...only black boxed games. just fill me in if you can on the subject. thanks guys

The change in amount of screws marks a revision in the Nintendo production process called "Rev-A." It separates older games (1985-1987) from the rest of the pack in that they have five screws and a flat top to the carts.
There's no "better" version, it just helps to date the release of the cartridge, and distinguish them to variant collectors.
