Former Tecmo Employee here for Over 15 years.

Just wanted to introduce myself to this awesome website that someone introduced me to on Ebay when I was selling my prototypes and getting robbed by Ebay on transaction fee's

I have many protypes to sell if people are interested and have the cash to pay for them, as of right now after opening up some boxes I have these proto's to sell for now until I locate my other boxes that have.

Solomons Key 1 (Prototype) and I may be getting back my Solomons Key 2 Prototype since the person who bought it seems to have buyers remorse. Ebay is screwing sellers big time nowadays.

Tower of Radia (Prototype)

I currently have others to sell, but if nobody on ebay purchases them I will list them here. (Ebay will not let me cancel when there is bidding involved)

Anyway, I have lots of knowledge on Tecmo games if you have questions, and I still know the creators of our games through facebook.

Take care fellow gamers!

  • Holy shit. That's pretty cool. Welcome aboard.
  • Welcome! Depending on your former role at Tecmo, I bet you can offer many good stories and insight into the industry!
  • Welcome aboard! Excited to hear more about your experiences!
  • Welcome, nice to have you here!
  • Welcome, really interested to hear more general knowledge!
  • I started out as a Game Counselor in 1988, became the Product Specialist in 1993 and then became there Product Manager for the reminder of my tenure there till 2005. Since it was a small company I had my hand in everything. I was there only gaming expert and they relied heavily on my knowledge and gaming expertise, so they obviously fell apart after my departure and got bought by Koei. I like to think it was because of me leaving   Anyway, I have truly some awesome stories from those days. If anybody visited our E3 booth during those years you will know who I am.
  • Hi!

Have any interesting stories about Tecmo Secret of the Stars/Aquatallion?

It seems like it would've been a fun one to localize. How did the team feel about the bunnysuits? haha.
  • Secret of the Stars - Man, I use to love that game, but a pain in the ass to help people through back in the day. That game caused allot of overtime work in those days when it was released staying on the phone with people for a long time to help them through. I finally ended up making a small strategy guide for it for $7.95 sold through Tecmo, it helped out so much.

THE BUNNY SUIT HAHAHAHAHAHA - I tried to tell our Japanese parent company to get rid of it, but they insisted in keeping it. Thats funny, totally forgot about that.

The biggest problem and the most fights I had with Japan was the name of our games - They always insisted to put TECMO in the title as the first word of every damn game we made. Sleepless nights arguing that point!
  • Hi!

I have one question. Who was the sadistic developer who decided to send you back to 6-1 upon dying on a boss in Ninja Gaiden?
  • That would be Hideo Yoshizawa. hahahahaha, you too huh? My cigarette habit become worse in those days... lol...
  • Welcome to the forum my favorite Nes game was Ninja Gaiden. I was so hyped when part 2 came out in 1990. I still have my original carts from when I was a kid.

Very interesting. This is an excellent place to sell and I think there will be many questions coming your way regarding your experiences. I would love to hear more stories from behind the scenes. There were so many great games from Tecmo Bowl to Fatal Frame. Tecmo may be my favorite 3rd party publisher of all time. I'm glad to see your hear!

That is awesome to hear you made the Secret of the Stars Hint Book.  That thing is impossible to find these days so if you have any extras.... hit me up!

Welcome to the site though!  I'm sure you'll have some anxious buyers for your protos

  • Welcome!
  • Thank you ZFleming54, glad to be here with other fans as well.

    Thanks MOD Matt...
  • Welcome to NA! Already enjoying hearing some of your experiences, and I'm excited to hear more about what work at Tecmo was like.
  • Hello! Welcome to NA!
  • AcidJaguar, I feel so upset I threw away so much stuff back in the day when we moved our offices - I'm having a heart attack just looking on Ebay and the prices people are paying for stuff that was so readily available to me back then and just thrown away. Only if I could have predicted the future better...

Thanks guys for all the welcoming comments.

I also have posters from those days as well, I'm trying to get them framed for buyers first, will post stuff later once I get used to this site a little more.
  • Welcome to NA!
  • Welcome to NA there buddy!

Sell me your protos! Oh yeah welcome to the forum.
  • If your interested in the Prototypes please PM me and I will let you know the cost, I hope you know it may cost a hefty penny. I sold my SK2 (Solomons Key2) Prototype for around $500, but these protos will not be this high though. I'm in urgent need of funds for something coming up and will deal with you for a fair price, since it's not on EBAY. Let's talk if your interested, no hard feelings if it doesn't work out for both of us
  • Welcome to NA!
  • You made it over. Glad to see you joined!
  • Welcome!
