Today I acquired a Sega Genesis/Game Gear game case that came from a retail store back in the day. I need a key to open it anyone have one or know what the key number is?
Got any close-ups of the lock itself? I think you can just drill it out and replace it with one from a hardware store. Because these were commingled with NES, SNES, Game Boy, etc games in similar enclosures, I'm pretty sure the retailers procured these without much involvement from Sega. Major chains probably either made their own or worked with an industry trade group to develop them jointly. This means that the individual stores likely provided their own off-the-shelf lock and key from a hardware store (or from corporate).
You can pick those little locks pretty easy with a paper clip. Just open the clip and take a pliers and form the smaller curved end into a key type shape. I have done it a bunch in the past.

That does appear to be a pretty standard cabinet/mailbox lock. If you can't get it open then I'd just take the thing to a locksmith. They'll get it open no problem without prying. No problem to replace that lock.

Didn't you ever play Fallout 4? Just get a bobby pin.
I actually tried a bobby pin for the last 20 minutes. I got into a lock with a bobby pin on a 3DS kiosk.

You should put more points into lockpicking then.

A set of bump keys is alot easier.
