Have you ever lost your "Faith" in humanity?
As many of you are aware the hobby has been changing rapidly, Yeah prices have been fluctuating wildly and many sellers have been getting pretty greedy. But what Ive been seeing out of humanity is this sort of cut-throat behavior more recently, Flakey people, Back-Door Deals, Shady transactions... eBay, Craigslist, Instagram, Swap meets etc. (aparently even here on NintendoAge) What makes people need to act so disingenuous?
When I was growing up we were taught to "Treat others the way you wished to be treated" but lately nothing seems to matter in recent years, Ive given my fair share of stuff away to people and obviously havent expected anything in return but over the years came to the realization that most individuals do not appreciate nor are better off because of it.
What is a man, a miserable pile of secrets?
Yesterday really changed my life I lost a lot of faith in humanity after being Led on to believe that a deal was possible from one of our members for 12 Days another member came in from a back-door and worked on a deal behind my back while the seller kept leading me on for days. No mention of another offer or deal. The eventual buyer even contacted me 2 days after the seller asking what he "needed from me to make this happen" I told him I just needed the address, and then 2 days later The guy who back doored me sent me a PM asking if I was after what he had also wanted, I was working on a deal with him 2 days prior to his PM. Oddly enough it was finally revealed to me by the buyer after investigating (Buyer posted pictures of clearing space in his a room) I came to the realization what just transpired.
He had side stepped our deal and the seller has gone quiet.
"The seller still to this day has not replied to me"
I planned a 14HR drive, booked a Van and a hotel just to pick this up. while the person with the "loot" frolics around the forum after flat out PM me that he had picked it up like nothing happened. Why couldnt the Seller just tell me that there was another offer? Why did he not just tell me that something has come up? Instead the alleged buyer himself replies to me on the day that hes going to be picking up the item that I was still being led on to believe while it was already sold.
I feel like I have been cheated on by NintendoAge and our relationship. It was a good relationship 6-7 some odd years strong? This is not how you treat a lover nor conduct business or even how you maintain a good reputation. I dont want this thread to be taken as a way to bash the entire community but it certainly shows how rough it can be out there,
"The deceptions of not one but two members of our community through a single trasaction hit me hard yesterday, A community that I personally have held in high regard for half a decade dissapointed me a hell of alot more than having to wait for another deal on a "Missing Piece" for my collection. "

Why don't you take it up with person you had the deal with in a more private manner?! I
Been silent No response for days, has been on the forum though just wont respond to PM.
Ultimately, is the seller to blame for everything. At NA though, we can't police every single deal and can only work through the transaction system. I'm sorry you went though so much over a verbal but ultimately if there is no transaction in place then there is nothing we can do as mods.
Lesson here is to not believe anyone at face value until you have a transaction in hand. And yes, flakers are everywhere and more numerous than ever. I've been flaked on NA from deals as high as $5k, both as a buyer and as a seller. It is EXTREMELY frustrating but you move on and know how worthless some people really are.
NintendoAge has not crossed you. NintendoAge has not betrayed you. You had a negative experience with one or two people who happen to be members here. Please do not let that experience develop into a gloom and doom outlook on everyone here. Maybe it isn't your intention, but when you say things like "I feel like I have been cheated on by NintendoAge and our relationship. It was a good relationship 6-7 some odd years strong?" - how else is it supposed to come across?
It is ok to express your opinions and disappointments. But understand that we cannot control the actions and behaviors of every single person here. I want you and everyone else on this site to know that we work extremely hard to assist people, take care of issues, and prevent negative experiences from happening. We are not perfect and we are not gods and we can't control everything.
But please try to look on this with a little more perspective. I try so very hard to be supportive, positive, fun, and overall to keep this place moving along smooth. Many of us do. And I'm not just referring to mods and admins. I'm referring to everyone here who participates in this community.
My request to everyone else -- please do not burn him at the stake. He is frustrated with an experience and perhaps this comes across a lot worse than he intends. We all need to vent sometimes. What I don't want is to see him crucified for these statements. Perhaps that is what my reply here may seem like - but it is really more to just help redirect.
I'm sorry you had a negative experience, and I'm sorry you feel betrayed by it. I wish you the best going forward and I hope that you don't let this tarnish your experience here.
They are video games.
It's easy to get swept up in things, but man, there is way more to life than letting something like this bring you down. Go outside and look at flowers or something. Disconnect.

The seller in question is a POS, your issue is with him and not the buyer. That seller screwed me over too so I know how you feel. Quoted me a price on a Superbrite sign and said he'd text a video of it working before we made it official. Text never came, followed up 3 times and he doesn't have have the balls to respond like a man. Such a coward, can't even confront someone after you screwed them over.
Thanks Jone, Im glad to hear im not completely crazy in regards to this
Thats all i needed to hear, Thanks again guys. I thinik Im gonna just take some time away for awhle maybe come back after the dust settles. Hopefully theyll just get whats coming to them in the long run
