Does anybody know where I could pick one of these up? I mean a modded official console so that the screen has a light in it, not one of those knockoffs you see on eBay.
Backlit GBCs don't really exist. There was reportedly ONE on eBay a while ago, but it's disappeared again. The only options are putting a GBA SP inside a GBC body or using an internal frontlight. I've modded plenty of GBCs with frontlights. I have feedback on NA for the last one I made and sold. Please PM me if you're interested.

Bennvenn's shop sells AGS-101 backlit screen adapter ribbons for installation in GBCs including a motion blur fix
He's also working on a 1:1 custom screen replacement
Well, that's still not a true backlit GBC, it's a GBC with another screen shoved into it. I recall watching a YouTube video from ThisDoesNotCompute a few weeks ago about some Chinese guy who did something similar, swapping in a non-standard LCD to provide "true" backlit GBCs. The bad news is is that Bennvenn apparently won't ever be doing more of the AGS-101 screen boards (per the linked Facebook page), so hopefully an easy to drop in screen replacement will actually become a reality.
