Nintendo T-Shirts in Collaboration with Uniqlo

I stumbled across a range of Nintendo T-Shirts for sale by Uniqlo today. The designs were chosen from fan submitted entries in a competition, and some of them are pretty cool.



Couldn't see this mentioned anywhere else, so my apologies if it's old news.

    Totally meant to make a thread about this two weeks ago when I first saw them in store. Caught me by surprise.



    I'm a fan of their clothing in general. Some of these were pretty cool but some were certainly 'meh'. None were enough for me to loosen my wallet. Not a terrible price point for a very comfortable t shirt if you dig the designs.



    Their clothes tend to be slightly small, FYI. I normally wear medium shirts but their size large is a must for me.

    Yeah. Picked one up in Bangkok a few weeks ago (the one with SMB1 art). Also saw somebody wearing the Pokémon line art shirt in public while I was in Japan a couple weeks after. That Pokémon shirt was the Thailand winner’s design.

    For some reason I was expecting the t-shirts to light up or glow in the dark. I'm now disappointed.



    I read Uniglo, not Uniqlo. Dang.



    Just kidding, they look pretty neat. Maybe a little to kitschy for me, but some look sweet.

    that's a shame. I like my t shirts really baggy, so a couple sizes too big. I do like a couple of the designs quite a bit

    Nintendo has no real presence in Thailand. Other than a few Pokémon Go things here and there, I really wasn't seeing anything Nintendo-related despite searching markets all over the place. Finally, on June 5th, I stumbled into UNIQLO and was suddenly surrounded by Nintendo shirts, but almost everything was sized for typical Thai people. I bought the only XL shirt I could find and now I see that they run a size smaller than indicated. Darn.  



    I sent my brother, Ichinisan, some iMessage pics and videos when I was still browsing so I might as well share those...







    Splatoon, Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Mario, Kirby, etc.



    We didn't get to check out Bangkok's Wangburapa Mega Plaza where Top Hat Gaming Man found all of his cool retro gaming stuff but there is seriously another huge mall at ever stop on the subway we were closest to so I expected to find something similar. Closest we found were a couple stores ripping off GameStop. One was seriously called "GameStart." The other one (may also have been called GameStart but I only remember that the font was dead-on) had a gray market Nintendo Switch and a Famicom Mini, but the other had nothing retro at all.

    Was in Uniqlo on Saturday and these were marked down to $9.90 each, as were most of their other print shirts. Site still reflects this too:

    It was enough for me to pull the trigger on one (went for the one with DK climbing on the "pocket"):

    And I retract what I said earlier -- much of their clothing DOES run a full size small. However, I found that the medium sized shirt fit like a standard medium. They didn't have any large, and I took a gamble, and it fits well. So maybe t-shirts are an exception?
