Found these old rock T-shirts in a lost record collection

Cleaning up and found these T-shirts mixed in with some records. They are the same size as your standard LP.

Looking around on eBay some old rock t-shirts sometimes do ok. However, I wasn't able to find any sealed shirts from this company and the used shirts that I did find were all different in some way. Anyone here have any experience with this sort of thing?

This is the closest shirt I could find to the Pat Benatar but they have different tags.

This one looks close the Pink Floyd shirt but again different tags.

  • I dunno but the fact they are brand new are very appealing to me as a t-shirt wearer!
  • Yup! I dunno what they are worth but I can see them doing well!
  • erk, they may not be original. The Pat Benatar one says copyright 1982, 2001

  • A while back I was searching around for old NBA clothes with the old logos and some of the prices were shocking. Of course, if these aren't original they may not demand much but then again maybe these being new would help the price regardless.

"2001 Whitecastle Way,Ltd." looks to be one of the company names that they use. It does not refer to a date.

  • Yeah, I think that's the business name. I looked it up and if I remember right, it was established in 1976, so 2001 isn't referring to a date. I assume the shirt is 1982 then.

    Bam!  Awesome

  • I can see The Wall shirt doing pretty good just due to the legacy of the album/band and that has some nice artwork on it.

Pat Benetar though, probably not so good.

I can't really see them having any real significant value though but would be curious.
  • I think you missed the link. The pat benatar one above there's a vintage clothes dealer asking 250 for a used one.   tags are different though as he said

Yeah I just don't know. You could be right but I could see things going either way.

Pink Floyd is very popular and even today they make many styles of wall shirts. The vintage Floyd material gets drowned out in a sea of modern remakes. Pat Benetar is not nearly as popular but it is an iconic album cover image and the shirt screams early 1980s. As we know less popular then sometimes is a good thing later on because there are less of them.

Yeah probably true, I actually thought about it after I posted but left work.

That Floyd shirt has probably been printed 1,000,000 times.

  • I think so too. I passed right by the floyd shirt but the Benatar shirt made me youtube her music.   It holds up.

3:15 to 3:30 of the video is unintentionally hilarious

  • I recall seeing t-shirts packaged like this at a best buy a few years ago in their vinyl section. Looking at the price tags on your photos these have surely been around longer than best buy has.

Maybe 7 day auction starting at $99.99 each?   I think you'll have more action on the Floyd one but all it takes is two rabid Pat Benetar fans to make things interesting.
