Yes you do not need a framemeister, these cables are plug and play ready.

They are Component cables not RGB.   They made a clever circuit in the cable that converts the consoles RGB signal to user friendly component output.

It's the best analog signal for the price.  Otherwise you need upscalers, scart cables etc.

The HD Retrovision guys have worked their butts off making this.

    It's a quality cable.

The cable will also work with the SNES mini & N64 IF modded for RGB.

  • So, it's essentially a cable with it's own built-in component transcoder. Pretty nifty!

I can attest to the excellent quality upgrade you can get from a SNES through component transcoding (so long as the transcoder itself is also decent quality). So long as your CRT accepts component inputs, no mods or pass-throughs needed to get this performance from a model 1 SNES.

Any idea if Retrovision has distant, lofty plans to make something like this for the Turbografx (talk about wishful thinking, right)? That's the one console that's giving me some trouble with extracting better video output. Love the Turbo but NEC made some really stupid decisions with it's design and marketing. *grumble grumble*

I would look into this but be sure to ask some questions about what revision tg16 was used, i would test this for you myself but i do not own a turbografx16.
  • These went up for sale a ~4:29pm CST to the general public. I was lucky enough to get one of each SNES/GEN before the SNES ones sold out in record speed (~2 mins). Forgot to add the fucking genesis 1 stereo add-on cable to my cart though so I had to make another order and pay shipping again. It's all good though an extra $4 s/h for a product that enhance one's overall gaming experience? No fucking problem!
  • Hopefully they are in the red now so another batch can be made, they have so many great ideas i would like to see the attachments for their cables get made.
  • I got 2 SNES ones, which was all I was really concerned with. Genesis can wait til August

precisly why I got a SNES Mini modded for RGB from ya (similiar username on ebay)

Thanks again for the work, can't wait for my cables to arrive so I can see it shine!

  • what horse crap those cables sold out in 1 minute... I got an error message, added a sega cable, when to checkout and snes sold out..
  • Looks like a big restock in mid-August. Unfortunately, demand will probably be even higher now that the general public is aware and word of mouth gets out.
  • brutal, they must have let people buy unlimited amounts
  • Judging demand, Ste said they were limiting to a max of 2 per cable type. There were 1900 ppl on mailing list alone plus whoever else got word. Brutal is right. It's almost as bad as queuing up to buy amiibos XD
  • wow I had no idea they had that many...
  • Yeah wait till the new people who ordered praise the cables and the reviews will help sales, i just hope the testing for other systems start this year. I really hope the psx and saturn attachments pan out.
  • I just wish my buddy who told me about this told me about the kickstarter. these guys did great work and deserve a lot of praise
  • i feel like it's confusing whether these cables are intended for use on an HDTV or a CRT.

They are intended for newer tvs but any tubetv with component will work 100% since 240p was apart of the analog signal, some newer tvs do not process 240p so you will have to do a test and make sure your set works first. http://www.hdretrovision.com/240p/

  • I had bought both, even though I dont have my snes out of storage yet, But the genesis looks amazing on my oled tv.

It's actually more of a pain to find the ones that do support it. When I got my SEGA cable, all 3 flat screens on my house did not support it and hunting down a flat screen that did, usually were those that had s-video but even then some displayed different issues like blinking or incorrect image color.

These cables were really picky but the end result when find the tv is amazing.

  • I bought the genesis cable with the intent of using it on my Toshiba crt that has component inputs. The result was really stunning a much nicer picture than the s-video I was using.

I'm looking forward to future products from these guys.

Yeah that is why I plan on buying a sega nomad to use in stores, when I find a good cheap 4k TV I want one that process's 240p not just supports it.

  • New cable stock is up and new adaptor's are available.

    Neogeo and sega saturn. Https://Shop.hdretrovision.com

When cable's run out here are other date's for more chance's

    Wave 2: July 1, 2017 at 6:59pm CDT / 11:59pm UTC

    Wave 3: July 8, 2017 at 6:59pm CDT / 11:59pm UTC
  • Nice, thanks for the update. I missed the first wave for more cables, but I definitely want another Genny cable and adapter for my Saturn.

Hopefully I won't miss out this time!

  • Single genesis cable back up for sale, a canceled order. Get it fast.
  • So is there a list anywhere of compatible tvs beyond the 3 Samsung ones they have links to that's sold out everywhere?
  • There are more then 3 tvs but i would check with bob from retro rgb.

If you have a sega nomad, you could go to bestbuy and start doing the 240p test and it can be done without their cables.
