Art of Atari poster book release party.

Tip Lapetino asked me to bring some of my originals to help support the release of his new Art of Atari poster book.

The event was at the Logan Barcade in Chicago. Trip was 6+ hours for me but it was a lot of fun to meet others interested in seeing the things that I enjoy.

  • Some really cool stuff there.
  • Cool, what's the Taito piece back there?
  • Beautiful pieces, man. Really awesome set up.

My heart is with the Berzerk piece.

No idea. It was covered with promotional material when I got there. There were some great games there. Including many of the newest pinball machines. Aerosmith etc.
  • Didn't realize this was a thing. Loved the first book, will definitely pick this up too when it's out!
  • They look great Adam,

For those of us who don't know atari as well, what are the pieces again?

Pic 2 - galaxian, berzerk, solaris

PIc 3 - atari scorepad promo art, cyberball, airworld

Pic 4 - is that... tempest on the left?

Did I get all those right?
  • Those look great and yeah one does look like Tempest. I love that game!
  • what's your favorite one Adam? Is it the Cliff Spohn scorecard one? I remember you have a soft spot for that but then again there are some major covers there too.

I do have a soft spot for that piece. It was the last painting Cliff Spohn did for Atari.

Berzerk , Galaxian and Waterworld are up there too.

Ahhhhh I can't pick. I'll have to keep them all !

Solaris does use the same image but it was painted for Star Raiders.

An unreleased Cliff Spohn baseball painting is to the left of Berzerk.

Other than that everything looks correct.

  • Looking forward to seeing these at CCAG!
  • People may bag on the graphics of the Atari console games, but the artwork for them was phenomenal. I always loved the art for Warlords.

I always liked the Bezerk art as well.
  • It blows my mind that this stuff was preserved and can still be found.
  • Most of it wasn't, sadly.   These are the survivors

It was unreleased so the image isn't as well known.
