No board pics but it looks fine. There's a fair amount of wear and that's not something you really see with reproductions. I've also never seen a MM5 reproduction.
I think that at least the label is fake. Blue in the background is off and the label is too high. You are supposed to see capcom entirely. Also, the blue is mega man eyes is not there. You can compare here:
Thanks. I won the auction. I just sent over a message asking him about the label though. I did find a couple carts with the Capcom a little higher that were older labels. But I noticed that white dot toward the bottom also.
I noticed on the reproduction stickers they are missing the tm by Nintendo entertainment system at the bottom or at least from one seller on eBay who sell the stickers. The one I bought had that small TM which is a good sign I guess.
I've got a lot of legit games with the labels cut low, making the image sit high. Some are even cut through the title on the end label. This is because the alignment of the cutting die was not perfect. In fact, it isn't expected to be. Most labels were designed with quite a bit of "over print" so that they didn't need perfect alignment and yet no strange colors or bars would appear at the edges. Of course, it doesn't account for alignment at the fold, but that was their graphic designer's fault.
Games like Mega Man 5 surround the label with a solid color but even labels with full graphics right up to the edge do this. One of my copies of Tetris for Game Boy has significantly more artwork visible at the bottom than the other four copies because it was cut too low. All these attempts to scan and preserve labels actually need to make a composite of several cuts to get more of the artwork, but no one is taking it that far.
