Discman vs Cartman - which superhero are you?
As collectors, we have basically 2 choices:
1. The heavier, hard outershell-casing of the roms ie. carts.
2. The lighter, thin circular things, in various guises - cds, dvds, blurays ie. discs.
So the question is, are you a collector due to preference to 1 or 2 of the above? Or you collect both with more preference of one over the other? Or maybe you don't mind either, as long as the games are good?

The...... the carts.
My biggest turn off for disc collecting though is they don't feel unique. This all boils down to childhood nostalgia and thinking for me though. As a kid I would see Nintendo, or Genesis Cart shape and design, I know its special to that particular hardware and only that hardware can play those games. Though as a kid I knew CD games only would work with there specific systems, but it didn't stop me from feeling they all felt sorta generic and could do the same things.
Carts for me. I grew up with family members that treated disks like shit, and it really did a number on my trust in that format.
Make this into a poll.

Good idea, poll has been added!
I'm honestly split down the middle. My biggest two collections are ps2 and NES. I've always had a thing for RPGs, so followed the good ones through the years, and that's meant moving on over to the Ps1 in the late 90s and forward.
I'm right there with you. I love carts but they are just so damn expensive now. Ps2 and PS3 I can still get a dime a dozen.
