F**k Fear!
Was there something that scared you as a kid, BUT you checked it out years later and laughed it off?
It might not be easy for some, but there may have been a scene in a movie or game that seriously made you run out of the room as a child, but you decided its been long enough and you want to face it again.
Ive heard a few people say the shark in Banjo Kazooie made them stop playing entirely, and seeing Sloth from Goonies caused nightmares.
My sister HATED Michael Jacksons face at the end of Thriller. And I ran out of the room when a certain advert for crisps (Yes, crisps) showed up. Years later and I can watch it and smile. Hell, Im watching it as I type this!
Anyone ever get over their childhood fear? Please share.

Only on N64 though.............
From the YT comments, apparently my sisters and I weren't the only ones!
EDIT: Here it is
Happens to be one of my favorite songs and music videos now
The cover of Ghoulies
Nowadays I can laugh about it but w/e I'm alone walking down a dark streeet with sewer drain spots I always go back to that memory o.O lol.
The Large Marge scene in Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
No joke...just got chills thinking about that again.
Yup. It took me a couple of years to finish watching "Ernest Scared Stupid," because of the troll.
Hmm yeah, when she turns around and he's in th bed with her? That was some scary shit for PG
Tale of the Pinball Wizard:

The flying monkeys in Wizard of Oz when I was like 5 or 6 scared the crap out of me. I've watched it since and it's obviously kind of silly.
The clown from It scared me when I was young, but rewatching it helped me realize it was pretty tame.
The clown from poltergeist when he was in the bedroom made me jump back like 15 feet from the tv and made me not sleep for like a week. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch that one again without paralyzing flashbacks.
the wheelers from return to Oz.
I loved the movie, but I remember watching the movie from underneath a chair... I'd look away every time E.T. came on the screen.
The scene when he's half dead in the river still freaks me out.
- Majora's Mask: You know, when you put your N64 cartridge in your console, the game starts with the mask turning and advancing toward you. That always scared myself as a young kid.
- Gruntilda's painting: In Banjo-Kazooie, the painting of Gruntilda in the first room of Gruntilda's Lair. I didn't like the witch back then: I found her scary. Today, I love her and find her very funny.
- The forest in a childhood film of mine (The Three Little Pigs): Take a look at 12:32. Still pretty scary for children, I think.
- The moon in Majora's Mask: Enough said !
- Andross in Star Fox 64: The green background, so destabilizing, with that horrible face, made me dislike this game for a pretty long time.
- Regan MacNeil from The Exorcist: I remember when I began to start using Internet, my friends and I would challenge ourselves with scary games on flash games sites. One of them was that famous scary maze game. Needless to say, I have very bad memories of that game. After, I learned that that face was from The Exorcist. I finally watched the movie with my brother and I fought my fear. Myself being born in 1999, and I was like 10 years old when I played that game, I can't believe how scary that movie was for its time.
- Tweek vs. Craig, the South Park episode: In this episode, Richard Adler, a teacher, is depressed about the death of his fiancée. You can see in this episode a real woman dying in her jet plane (if my memory serves right). Sure, these aren't real images, but I didn't like them at all. Yeah, South Park is not for kids, but I watched that episode anyway. And I regretted it.
- EXTERIO - Bonhomme 7h: In French Canada (Québec), there is a legend to scare kids to go to bed. This legend is about a bad guy or monster that kidnaps kids that aren't in bed or not yet asleep after 19:00. EXTERIO, a band from Québec, made a song about that legend and my brothers used to watch MTV back then. This song passed on the channel and I was there. That video sure scared me ! Here it is:
There are probably more things, but that's all I can think of at the moment.
