Getting Back into Collecting!
A while ago I was feeling the blues of not finding boxed copies of any of the games I was looking for, and kind of got frustrated and took time off from collecting. Recently I decided to take a look at our nearby store and also search online, and all of a sudden a bunch of things I had been looking for showed up! I found a boxed Metroid II at the nearby store for $70, which I totally pounced on. When I went home and searched online feeling good about it for the first time in ages, I spotted a handful of other games I was looking for boxed at decent prices.
In general I've restricted my gaming to handhelds since console gaming frustrates me too much for a number of practicallity reasons, so boxed handheld stuff can be a mixed bag trying to hunt games for. Stuff on DS and 3DS is so easy to get it's laughable, yet Game Boy and Game Boy Colour can often be a pain to find nice copies of games that aren't marked up to laughable prices.
Just thought I'd drop in to say I'm back baby! I'll leave you with a picture of my current boxed Game Boy collection, though admittedly it's still small at this point. I'm primarily collecting Nintendo and Ultra/Konami games, and there are four exciting parcels in the mail for me.
I'll be making a new finds thread once some of this stuff starts showing up, so if you're the type who likes followng that stuff, be sure to check it out when I make it.
Also in general, I hope I can make some collecting pals this time around, as I think I'll be sticking around NintendoAge for a while this time.
I also don't want to hear any crap about the Canadian Variants in my collection. Those are the versions I grew up with in Canada. It's a bonus for me because a lot of people don't like the Canadian versions, so it gives me extra options.

Welcome back regardless.
Welcome back! Where in BC do you live? There's a few of us on here
I'm around the edge of Port Moody. I visit Gamedeals, MostlyMusic, and Press Start frequently, but don't often find stuff I'm looking for at good prices. Sometimes I get lucky though like with Metroid II. Metroid II and Kid Icarus were basically going to be the hardest ones for my boxed first party Nintendo GB set, and Kid Icarus should be arriving some time this week.
While I do have a Wario Land box and a crummy boxed copy of Yoshi, I'm mainly aiming for nine specific games from Nintendo and seven from Konami.
Nintendo
Super Mario Land
Balloon Kid
Metroid II Return of Samus
Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters
Kirby's Dream Land
Wave Race
The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening
Donkey Kong
Pokemon Red
Konami/Ultra Games
Castlevania The Adventure
Operation C
Nemesis
Blades of Steel
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fall of the Foot Clan
Tiny Toon Adventures Babs' Big Break
Skate or Die Bad 'N Rad
There's a long list of other games from the two companies I'd like to get as well, but the list above are the priorities.
Ah good. I thought I was the only one here with CIB Game Boy games that have all the original inserts.
That's part of the fun of complete copies of games. Buying common titles boxed like Tetris 2, Quarth and Golf and swiping inserts from them has a certain feeling of being sneaky and mischevious that I enjoy. Even better when you can trade them back to a different store and not lose very much money in the process.
Great choices to focus on.

Mostly music is terrible, definitely the most overpriced game store I've ever been to. I hear good things about house of cards in abbotsford. Willow video games in Langley is okay too. I find it pretty hard these days to find a reasonable deal in van. I used to live in white rock, but now I'm in Victoria.
Looking forward to seeing more of the gaming guts! lol
