i like to judge the cookout on the quality of the potato salad
You are 100% correct in doing this. The potato salad makes or breaks a BBQ. To answer the question, give me a thick burger, the aforementioned potato salad, and a cool dill pickle, and I'm a happy guy.
I've never been able to stand potato salad. It just... ew. Same with cole slaw. But I like kebabs and burgers, but I like all my meat very well done and not at all juicy
Burgers are the only thing that matter to me. And I hate how people always makes them thick! I don't care what people say, burgers are terrible thick. Make them thinner, put 2 slices of cheese, and for me some ketchup and I'm in heaven.
Anything off the grill(charcoal), burgers, dogs, chicken, steak, etc..
Love dips. Red onion, french onion, taco, etc..
German potato salad is a must
Deviled eggs, my moms recipe is the shiznits.
And booze of course.
German Potato Salad, yesss!!!!!! I very rarely make mustard potato salad anymore. If you do not like potato salad you should try this, you might change your mind.
Making vegan brats and sausages (Paul's favorite), mashed potatoes with mangos on the side. Thought about grilling up corn or asparagus but I didn't feel like dealing with the waste byproducts for both of those.
the blond at the end of the table .....no !!! not my cousin her friend the other blond geezzusss!!!
Haha, you know how to make me laugh
I was at a cookout today, had some grilled chicken with maple sugar rub on it and some kabobs with kielbasa and peppers. Good stuff. Don't forget the baked beans
I made spare ribs. My 3rd time making them. Still learning, getting a little better each time. They tasted great but I still need some work to make them fall-off-the-bone tender. Added a 2nd thermometer to my offset and found the original was off by 50 degrees! Now I just need to keep practicing. Dealing with the fire was much easier this time. We had some store bought potato salad with the ribs. My wife had already bought it a couple days ago, otherwise I was going to pick up some sides from KFC or Chicken Express.

Bought our first home this winter and just picked up a new grill yesterday and having a few people over. The planned menu is:

Hot Dogs
Hot Sausage
Hawaiian Shrimp
Mesquite Chicken
Potato Salad
Cole Slaw
Tortellini Salad
Corn on the Cob
Soda and Beer

I tend to go for desserts though as most people seem to hit the meat and sides first leaving desserts alone. First dibs are always nice.
I like a good Ambrosia salad depending on the fruit used. Oranges and pineapple is a good combo.
