Way to go man... after 25 years of paying rent I just bought a house right before last christmas. Ours was built in the mid 50's and still has the plaster walls and ceilings , Be ready to drop alot of cash, paint isnt cheap. When we moved in I changed all the outlets and switches on the first floor along with new light fixtures and a refreshed bathroom with new sink and toilet. I learned more about plumbing than i ever wanted to know.

Change your air filters, flush your water heater, clean your evaporator coils, clean your dryer vent... Speaking of which, I gotta change my water heater anode rod, which I didn't know was a thing when I bought my house. Always something to fix or maintain, enjoy it.
