The Hunt more exciting than The Purchase?
I hope that most of you still search for games in the wild. I know that it's depressing not to find things sometimes, but isn't it just AWESOME when you do?
I love hunting for games and other nuggets.
.....but here's my question....
Considering price... what do you do when you finally find something cool or interesting that you might not particularly want in the wild? It doesn't need to be a DEAL does it?
Sometimes I find myself buying things just as a trophy for the day so that when I see that game on my shelf I can say "I found that". Ebay is a good friend to me too, but please don't forget the hunt. Thoughts?

To your second question, yes I will pick up finds even for game systems I'm not collecting if its a great deal. I have actually started new collections from doing this. In recent years PS2 has been one example. I guess in the end I just buy and collect for whatever games are readily available and seem cool to me.
I still like "hunting" for rare items online, but going through my Ebay saved searches every morning to see if the weird variant I'm looking for finally turned up sure isn't as fun as a flea market.
The purchase is my new excitement. Knowing I've got something I've wanted on the way is more exciting now than trying to go around town and look/hope for stuff.
Absolutely. I don't do much locally but the constant search online for a deal is where the fun is.
I had more luck on eBay than in retail stores ironically, a lot of good games can be purchased way under the retail price if you search for auctions or sellers who actually consider your offers and don't just send a $0.90 discount as a counteroffer everytime.
10 years ago it was worth it.

like recently? Maybe I'll start hunting on eBay again
I'd rather be doing something else....I mean if you find a good deal while you are out and about sure, sweet.
