NES Console Shell Dliemma (washington state vs revision 11)
Some that know me here in the forums know my strange fascination with Revision 11 Nes Consoles (you know the ones, nes challenge sets but specifically those that shipped with mario 3 in cart form, and marketed for first time players that sold side by side the toploader from 1993 to the end)
I picked up a nes system that has had all the capacitors changed. But the problem is that the case is very yellow. And its a Washington State NES with a serial range of 1-2 million.
The debate is as follows, do a complete shell swap and have the recap board in the nice and minty nes shell
Just swap the tops and get by that way
or Yellow is the new Black?

Retr0bright is an option but not the best. I've heard tales of it reyellowing after a few years and as it's a chemical reaction, it weakens the plastic making it more brittle.
Yep.
You could always add clear coat after retrobriting, that might stop it from yellowing again but I never tried it.
IIRC, they also make UV-protective clear coat for automotive purposes.
