  • Everyone is so Stark raving mad (pun intended) about Jon. There was so much foreshadowing and lines dropped in the books that without flat out saying "Jon isn't gone".....Jon isnt gone. THere are alot of scenarios that could play out based on things that have been said and alot of crazy theories out there in internet land. GoT doesn't follow the rules. Jon Snow is not dead/wont be for long. Id bet anything on it.

Do they think they can get out of the country without being tracked down by all of Ramsay's hunting dogs? Was that REALLY their only option just because "Ramsay was coming"? Why would Sansa trust Theon enough to jump at the same time as him off of a wall high enough to kill you after he just betrayed and shoved someone over a ledge of equal height 5 seconds ago? Can he be so easily redeemed and trusted after betraying her multiple times?...

I didn't think they were escaping....

So you think it was perhaps a Thelma and Louise style suicide? Interesting. I didn't think of that.

looked like there was a snow drift up against the outside of the castle

  • People think Theon and Sansa killed themselves?

I was just thinking it was a desperation leap. It was high, but the psycho chick landing from a similar height she landed face first on rocks.

Bran survived falling backwards from the same height, but of course broke his legs

I mean there just is no way theyd kill sansa off like that. Theon helping her? maybe, but not sansa
  • It makes little sense to kill either. As far Theon is concerned, they might as well let at least one character try to find redemption and I think that Theon makes a lot of sense in that regard. He betrayed the family that forcibly made him their ward to try and appease, you know, his actual family and then it all went to shit for him. He didn't even kill Bran and Rickon! Bring on some Greyjoy redemption !

  • JS can't die until he bangs Daenerys and afterwards it's revealed that he's her nephew. Spoiler.
  • Wow, can't believe I missed that image...and I can't unsee it now.

    Anyways, new trailer!

  • That pic above makes sense but I think Jenner hasn't cut his shit off yet
  • Fucking trailer was sick. I'm torn though. I don't really want to advance the story through the television show. I want to wait until the book comes out. But I don't think I can avoid spoilers even if I stayed off the internet. I'd rather have the story told to me through the show than find out what happens hearing someone talk about it in line at the bank. God damn man.
  • New trailer!

  • Surprised this thread hasn't been bumped yet!

    Great start to season 7!
  • Sure was! I was pleasantly surprised to find it streamed in 4K through HBO Now. Friggin Ed Sheeran!?!?!?!

    Bring on the dragon glass!
  • Ed Sheeran was unnecessary and dumb. The sequence with Sam was fantastic and hilarious. Rest of the ep was good.
  • The intro was freaking fantastic. Arya is wrecking shit up. I do love how the hound has hit the realization that the white walkers are in fact true.

I agree about Ed Sheeran being in the series is dumb. Hopefully he dies quick haha.

Yes!   I liked how the food and shit was the same color and consistency and all he saw all day long

  • The Sam sequence was great. The Ed Sheeran thing was only distracting to people who knew who he was, although that whole scene could have easily been cut, and nothing would have been missed. From what I've heard, his casting was basically just a favor to Maisie Williams, because apparently she's a huge Ed Sheeran fan.

On the whole, I found it to be a decent, but very by-the-numbers episode. Everything happened pretty much they way you expected it would... Even the cold open twist was very predictable, (but still enjoyable)
  • I'm happy I don't know who Ed Sheeran is or the episode apparently would have been ruined according to everybody.

he didn't do anything horrible... its just seeing a face you know from another context that seems out of place... like substitue him with any other modern pop singer that you're familiar with...

  • ^ Yep it just felt way out of place. At least they didn't have him really do anything other than hum a song for ~10 seconds. If they would have had him swing a sword, or even get up off his chair I think it would have been a lot worse fan reaction. It was at least done classy, but overall out of place.
  • I knew who ed sheeran is. Ive seen his face. I couldnt tell you what songs he sings. It didnt bother me. Its just like any other actor in the show ive seen in other things. People get worked up about that are ridiculous to me. Looking for something to gripe about.
  • Reading something on NYT I realized that dragon glass is obsidian:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsidian

"Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock. It is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth. Obsidian is commonly found within the margins of rhyolitic lava flows known as obsidian flows, where the chemical composition (high silica content) induces a high viscosity and polymerization degree of the lava."

Which makes sense to my why its "dragon" glass because I presume that the heat of a dragon's fire might be able to create/forge the glass. Might be a turning point in the war against the white walkers if Dany can use the dragons to create the necessary glass to defeat them, but we'll all find out in time
