There were specific guidelines all companies had to follow as far as the box is concerned...the two obvious ones are the emblem (bottom right) needed to be on the front of the box and the 16 yellow dots had to be on the front as well....there's other requirements but to be honest I can't remember them off the top of my head.
It could very well have been a box that didn't finish the printing process.
I don't think so. Although the two boxes pictured look similar, buyatari's has some very unique differences. for one, the front artwork takes up the whole space, where the other one does not.

Considering that a lot of the other unfolded boxes from the buyatari lot were Hudson boxes, and he stated that they came from someone in the industry, I think that a mock up is a lot more likely than a fake.
definitely NOT a fake, unless the seller created it himself. it is definitely more likely that this was essentially a prototype of the box... seeing as though the final box looks a lot like this one.
Yeah no way it is a fake. It wasn't higlighted in the sale as being special just one of 75 boxes. It come from someone in the industry. Perhaps used for internal only reasons, mockup or prototype or whatever but not worth the hassle to fake. I think I paid $3 a box.
