It is completely broken and nigh unplayable. I suffered through a few of it's games last year.
I finally gave up trying to beat this one. It's a shame because this could have been a fun little twitch game with some more effort put into it. I like the combination of speed and dodging stuff. As it is, it's too buggy to be playable. The graphics randomly glitch all over the place, and the "boss fight" is impossible when I can't do anything to avoid its projectiles. Sometimes I can shoot away the projectiles and other times I'm helpless. You must have had an amazing amount of patience to get through this.
I am more stubborn than patient, actually.
I am like Bald Bull's barber. I don't know when to quit.
Made it halfway through Beethoven's 2nd while doing some other stuff last night. Actually not that bad of a game but the controls take some getting used to. I plan on beating that at some point this weekend along with one or two others I've got in mind. I'll just have to pull myself away from Splatoon.
Edit: Also, I checked out some screenshots of Addams Family Values because I like the NES games. Is AFV a lot like Fester's Quest? That's what it appeared to be in screenshots.
It's pretty easy once you figure out the drops in the warehouse. Those are the easiest deaths.
And yes, I have not played much Fester's Quest, but I think it's basically a sequel. I also beat it last year and found it very frustrating; good luck beating it without a guide. And the password system sucks.
I got to the warehouse and there was a drop with a guy on top of a box across the gap... but my bark wouldn't reach. Pretty sure that's where I called it for the night.
Woke up a few days ago to find my laptop BSODed. Obviously, that killed my progress with Nobunaga's Ambition 4. Worse, it turns out it's bricked and I had to get a new laptop. In any event, NA4 is going to be restarted soon.
I'm actually more upset about being forced off Windows 7 and into Windows 10 hell
I beat Beethoven's 2nd. Actually not that bad of a game and seems like a really good beginner platformer for kids. I may have to get a copy for my daughter.
Yeah, I'm going to try to really get back in. Still plenty of platformers I haven't tried. That damn Splatoon, though... I had to go upstairs and beat Beethoven before giving myself a chance to get into Splatoon.
Cutthroat Island had it's throat cut. Back to Roger Clemens' MVP Baseball now. Maybe I will manage to get to 25 games won today. x.x
Edit: Or maybe I should take a look at that Spectre game Brock and Bronzeshield were talking yesterday. Sounds like the kind of fun I like.
I was reading that too so I thougt I would look at it. I got to level 26 on my run. Second time I made it to level 30 and the third time I made it to level 31. After level 30 things get ridiculous.
What it needs is hand drawn maps for where the balls move in later levels

Or a good look at the diassembled code.
I guess it could be entertaining to try and understand the mechanics to map it. I can do that during this week.
I'm really glad to be done with Vortex, it was a real pain. Long levels without checkpoints, tough boss fights, and poor frame rates ... not a good combination. It was ambitious though, I'll give them that.
In the next day or two I'll see what Hole-In-One Golf has to offer.
Gonna put in some half assed effort towards learning Contra this week, so I might just beat some familiar games on the side like Super Turrican 2. Please someone else play it first, I love it and want others to experience it

Super Turrican 2 is awesome! It is so much fun!
Which is why I am not touching it for this thread.
So I just did some research into Utopia and found a longplay that reached an ending for the planet he was playing, which essentially said to try another planet. I'm not sure if the same message is displayed for every planet, or if the final one gives a different one, but I think doing every map is overkill. That said, it would take someone actually finishing the last planet to determine if there's a different end message or not before we can say that any one planet is good enough. Also, although I haven't played it in over 20 years, I'm pretty sure the first planet has a completely docile alien species, and is meant more as a tutorial world than an actual level, so I would say that even if you require only one planet to be completed, the first planet should be disqualified.
Anyway, I see a few of my favorites still haven't been touched, so I may have to fire up my SNES and help out again...although I'd still like to knock off some new completions for my own personal list as well. Just kind of at a gaming crossroads...trying to decide what I feel like playing
Next ones I have in mind are Beauty and the Beast and the Addams Family games. I just had the brilliant idea to put the damn games on my tablet (and find my 8bitdo controller) and play them downstairs instead of waiting for a good time to go upstairs. This thought honestly never occurred to me.
Is it any worse than Wizard of Oz? I managed that one and it's supposedly a difficult and buggy game. More tedious than anything. I think I recall playing the Beauty and the Beast game as a kid, so some of that might come back to me.

That is Action 52 for you.

Beauty and the Beast is kind of hard. I made it maybe halfway through on my one serious attempt
Runs much faster.
