Random question about sealed game pricing..

Ok, I'm still getting the general price range down on various things, and wouldn't mind everyones proffesional opinion.  Lets say your walking down the street "this is an exagerated story by the wayimage" and you see a garage sale. You stop in and see a crappy nes game "pick any one you wish, makes no differance as long as it is crappy" but it is mint and sealed, meaning 9-10. What is it worth to you as a collector...and lets say you don't own that game in "sealed" form?...$10? $5?... $.02? ...lol   just curious...i realize it will be a wide range as to who answers...

  • Ebay has gotten out of hand due to lower insertion fees/higher final value fees. It seems that any sealed game no matter how much it's worth CIB seems to be attempted to be sold for at least $99 (sometimes $300, $500, $800, $1,000) There's a copy of Dracula X for the SNES listed on there for "$4,899 or best offer" What is someone going to offer $2,000 and they say no? I guess the seller thinks it's worth a try to see if they can get a whole bunch of money for something, but no one ever pays those rediculous amounts, why would they? There's always a copy cheaper. It's like flushing money right down the toilet. Anyway that's just how I see things.
  • Is may be a member on here. If so, he snagged the bad boy last month for $99 BIN.
  • To answer the OP - depends on the game. If it were Othello, $0.01. If it were Final Fantasy II, a bit more image The range of values on sealed games is all over the map...
  • awe common, Othello is a great game!!...well to me anywayimage I'll buy sealed mint Othello for $0.01 from yaimage Thanks for the input Im just after an average price as I have been buying bulk Sealed and non bulk sealed games and averaging about $10-13 a game...seemed good to me but curious what a solid collector would think about it. Mind you these are all games I don't already have in sealed for, no doubles. Thanks again guysimage

I think he's talking about Bronty. He has a VGA 95 graded copy on eBay for something in the $5000 or best offer. That's mainly to entertain offers, he's not waiting for a $4500 offer.

  • of course it depends on the crappy game. But saying a version of say 10 yard fight. I might pay $5. I did get a copy of Super Play action Football factory sealed for $2.00...now that is a crappy game.

Oh, I didn't even bother looking. If it is a VGA 95, I would start that ho off that high as well and see what happens.

lol...I bet there are a few who would drop $5 on a sealed 10-yard fight.
  • Indeed, I'd pay $5 anytime for a10 yard fight sealed.

And by the way, that's another cue on sealed games. Black boxes sealed are worth a LOT!!!
The cheapest and most commons like Golf and Pinball are hardly worth $100, especially since Dov sell so much of them. But any other Black box titles, as crappy or cheap the cart only can be, worth from big money to Huge money sealed.

lol...just beat ya. I need to send you a PM about that issue we were talking about. I will shout at you tonight.

Lol, I actually edited the post so it sounds less dumb now.

Great, I'll wait for your pm about that issue.
  • I did see a sealed popeye go for $360...and I know who got it...that Brians games guy..he must own most sealed black box copies by now...His site is great, makes me wish I didn't sell all my gi joe stuff!!! grrrr
  • I shouldn't have said before that the really expensive ones never sell, I saw a Dracula X SNES sealed for $800 get bought BIN. Although that is a pretty rare game so I can kinda understand that. For whoever bought it that could even be an investment. Hold on to it for 10 more years and no telling what it could be worth (unless Konami finally does a Castlevania collection, then it could bottom out.)

What's a sealed Earthbound or PDS going for these days?
