What's stupid is that the GS I go to a bunch , some lady there said they weren't gonna do pre-orders. Even after I told her that nintendo FB had stated they will have pre orders.

Guess I'll be cancelling some game preorders today >.>
Walmart and Target sold out in less than a minute, was on the final step for Target and it just wouldn't allow the order to go through. Can't leave work to go to a video game store and preorder in person. Pretty pissed. I thought they couldn't mess up worse than the NES Classic preorders, but I guess they wanted to prove me wrong.
Thanks for the in store tip, I got one and paid it off in store. They said they couldn't tell me how many they had. I told them I heard "10 per store, 1 per customer" and he said it was a bit more than that but not too much. Good luck!
Same here down to a T. 1 per household, I was I think the first, with 2 fellas behind me. They wouldn't share how many they had. Thanks for the tip guys and good luck to all!
I was 2nd in line at GS. They had 5 for preorder. They said they only got 8 of the NES Classic.
But yet Nintendo said they're producing more of the SNES.
they got something like 5 each of nes classic at mine so technically it is true but apparently not at yours.
The store employee said they only had 8 NES vs. the 5 available in the system for the SNES. That's at my location though.
Poor Greg was the only worker there when a rush of people came in. He called in backup and a person came in to help him field the barrage of phone calls.
The SKU in the system was down and finally came back up. I literally just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
I walked into GameStop on my lunch break and got a pre-order. I was the second one to get one, and by the time I left, the line had grown to another 4 or 5 people. Luckily this particular store didn't start their pre-orders until after lunch time. Another GS about 20 minutes away was sold out before noon.

My exact situation as well...Target kept telling me there was an error until finally they said it was sold out.
I called my local Gamestop and they had some available. They where nice enough to cancel all my preorders I didn't need to pre order a classic over the phone
Wow that is awesome Andy, and Minister, when a woman is able to pre-order an SNES classic for you successfully, you have to marry her no questions asked .
I'm lucky to have friends. Buddy of mine went out to a GS that was close to him and was able to snag one for me! Obviously he's getting some extra money from me for doing so. Now I can focus on trying to get online ones for other friends who might want one
There was a guy already in the Gamestop I was at when 6 of us came charging through the door within 2 minutes of each other. His face was perplexed and confused. It was clearly a "these people are nuts" look. He asked what we were all here for, how much it was, what games were on it, and he too was confused why Chrono Trigger was not included. Needless to say he left, without getting in line for the pre-order.
Fast forward 40 minutes later. As I turned on my car in the parking lot, he frantically pulled back in while talking on the phone to see if any pre-orders were left. I didn't have the heart to tell him that the line was already 5 people past how many allocated systems the store had.
I'm re-evaluating whether I think this will be worse than the NES Classic. I guess 10 pre-orders compared to 8 for the NES Classic might be statistically significant, but it sure feels like the pandemonium is just as high as it was 1 year ago.

Of course it is going to be worse than the NES classic. Just like the hype and availability with each successive big Limited Run Games release is harder and harder to get.
People had a decent chance at preordering those last year because no one knew what resale was going to be. Market proved they'll hold $200-$300 pretty easy. Not even considering the inevitable hack that will come up.
I wish everyone luck in getting them but it's a no brainer that it'll be over retail at release. At best you can hope that Nintendo floods with restocks up until the holiday season to cool it off a bit. But if you want one on day one then you either need to preorder, line up on release day or pay a scalper. Those are the 3 options.

Tip of the cap to those that posted about the in-store GS order. I don't use Twitter, so I greatly appreciate it.
Did you get one?

I got one at Gamestop. Thankful for my GF, currently at work lol.
What area are you in? There was a girl in line at my location who mentioned being there for their man lol.
Traverse City lol, small blonde.
Nope. Grand Rapids. Lol.

We broke the internet. Well done everyone!!! :-)
Wouldn't have to happen if Nintendo just made enough of the bloody things so everyone who wants one can get one...

Can any of our Canadian friends confirm this?

Can't confirm but wouldn't doubt it.

I can confirm at least that I have seen some "This item is not available in Quebec" notices.
