Now try to find the gamestop exclusive pre-order stylus that went with Magicians Quest, it's so cute! Oh, and it's a pain FUN to find.

Snagged myself a factory sealed copy of Fighting Fantasy on the DS, last week. Maybe I can use it as trade fodder for an Snes Classic Mini, since I missed the pre-order window for those, ugh. >_<

Thanks!   yeah, organized by color. Do most of my game organizing that way!   i do have Zombie BBQ and it is awesome! One of my favorite DS games! Definitely try and snap up a copy when u can! I just never thought i would be in to the Phoenix games so i havent actually checked em out. May try em one day. I did just pick up my first Proffesor Layton game a while ago but havent played it yet. Figured i would be more into those since i do like puzzle games.
  • I felt the same way at first, I thought a game about being a lawyer? but really its so well done and if you like visual novel style games at all you'd probably enjoy it. Lotta reading tho! but thats to be expected...im actually in the middle of playing Hotel Dusk which I'm into so far
  • Are the Phoenix games similar to the investigation portions of Trauma Center?
  • Never been into the visual novel type games :/

Great collection you've got going there. What's the Japanese game in the bottom left corner? And those three next to Kingdom Hearts?
  • I think those games are a lot of fun. Very heavy on the visual novel aspect. I normally don't like those types of games... but man... Trauma Center I'll play any day.

fair enough, you gotta really be into the story and all that. not my favorite type of game either but definitely a nice diversion from time to time.

the big daddy of that style would probably be something like Snatcher (which I haven't played either because I am hopeful someday I will own a copy haha) but I do like Rise of the Dragon a lot

Thanks!   the one on the bottom left is Ketsui Death Label, amd the other 3 are Talea of Hearts, Tales of Innocence and Tales of the Tempest. Big Tales fan!
  • I trimmed down a bit lately; got rid of maybe 15 extraneous titles and sold rlh my sealed Solatorobo and now sit under 100 total. I think realistically there is maybe 150 games I could see ending up with

I do not recall much about Trauma Center, but I would not call the two games similar.  One is logic and one is dexterity and memorization

Did you ever play the one where there are bits where you're an investigator trying to find out how or why someone got sick/died?  That's more what I was thinking along the lines of rather than the operation sections.
  • I don't recall. I thought Trauma Center was frustrating and not fun and gave up on it.

Ace Attorney will hand you testimony and items and you have to point out the contradiction in that testimony with a piece of evidence. "You couldn't of been holding that frying pan because your license says you're left-handed"

I thought Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright was a good starting point.  Not only does it break up the gameplay switching back and forth which keeps things from getting stale, you don't have to restart the entire damn court proceeding if you fail (unlike the first AA at least).  Knowing you Loxx, the first time that happened you would probably toss the game aside and never come back

Nothing quite like advance wars that I can think of but if you're talking about tactics games in general, there are a bunch on the DS

I've been giving my 3DS some much needed attention lately, and played through Dementium yesterday. Started up the sequel today, and already it's a huge improvement. I like the first game and have played it before, but I can tell I'm gonna love Dementium 2 even more.

If you like those games, you should give Moon a shot as well. I believe it's by the same developer.

Ah cool, thanks for the tip!
  • Think we have another case of the NA effect. Posted about Wild West & Underwater Attack a month ago when they were $10 games now people are askin $100!? Look at the bottom listing! Has both of the games together! Aight, whos the culprit?

Edit* at least it looks like Underwater attack is still cheap by itself. It also looks like people haven't paid that price yet for Wild West. It just takes 1 tho i guess.

  • Damn that sucks, game looks cool

To be fair I did happen to see it reviewed not too long ago by some youtubers I follow as well

Ah, maybe that did it. Metal Jesus? I know he's been doing some DS stuff lately.

  • Playing through Henry Hatsworth and Monster Tale at the moment, two of the best platformers I've played in a long time! I would prefer if HH didn't have the puzzle aspect to it, I think it stands strong enough as a platformer that it doesn't need anything extra tacked on. The match-3 is fun and everything but I'm just sort of over match-3 puzzlers altogether, and it really breaks up the action of the platforming. That gripe aside, if you haven't checked either of these games out, you need to!

Never saw the edited portion of this post.  I dunno.  It depends.  If I'm really enjoying a game I'll keep going through the frustration.  If I'm not having that much fun, yeah, probably.

  • While I was on vacation last week, everyone would usually go to sleep before me (I mentioned I'm a night owl in a different thread), so I used my trusty 3DS to keep my occupied until I was tired enough to go to sleep. I brought a few DS and a few 3DS games for the trip, but I had more hours out of MvDK: Mini-Land Mayhem than any of my other games. It's such a great puzzle game and has a pretty high replay value in trying to get all items and a trophy for each level (plus all of the bonus levels). It's a crazy amount of content in that game. I hardly ever hear people talk about the games in this series.
  • I've heard it's a good series before but never checked it out myself.

There is a couple of complete Underwater attacks on Ebay for about $10 USD
  • FYI, if anyone is looking for drone tactics I just saw a couple on ebay for under $20. Cheapest one on amazon right now is like $85. Quite the price spread.
  • ^^thats a solid price!!

Since this thread got bumped, heres all my recent ds pick ups! Also snagged Freedom Wings which i havent tried yet but it was cheap Natsume game so i figured i'd give it a shot! Been playin a lot of Puzzle Quest lately and finally beat through Monster Tale which was great! Still lovin collectin for DS, always somethin new and different to try!

  • ^ I actually just beat Monster Tale last week after having it for a few years. Very fun, even though the padding got a bit ridiculous around the half way mark.

I also picked up Freedom Wings fairly recently for the same reason "eh, it's cheap and natsume," but it was sealed. Let me know if it's any good! There's little to no review of it

I see you picked up Henry Hatsworth too, which is from the same team and even better! (Even though monster tale implied that Henry died O_O)

I thought you already had Death Jr. and the Science Fair of Doom??

BTW those Repro Game Trader stickers are brutal. Go ahead and try to remove one :/

All I've collected for coming up on close to a year now is DS/3DS stuff (and some GBA). I'm building a shelf for it tonight, will post a pic when it's done!
