Was able to pick up one this morning at WalMart. Was 8th in line, they had 39 in stock. By the time they opened there were 25-30 people in line so everybody got one. Limit 1 per customer/family just like last years NES Classic release. Other stores I checked out were sold out and had the same policy as well, but will keep an eye out and ask some friends if they were able to get any after work.
Staples and Walmart Canada are cancelling a ton of orders according to Reddit and the NiS comment section. Bummer.
I heard WalMart cancelled all the preorders that had more than 1 per order/name, possibly so they could have more in stock for in store today. Last year stores were lucky to get 10 NES Classics in stock because of so many multiple preorders. It did allow some more supply in stores this year though so maybe it worked?
I got one at a Gamestop. Showed up an hour early with 3 people waiting, 16 classics available. Only one person got in line behind me by the time it opened. I tried buying another one after everyone bought theirs, but was denied.
I was lucky enough to get one today from one of the local EB Games! My husband was nice enough to drop me off at one on his way to work, and when I got there (which was about 2 hours before it opened) there was at least 30 people in line. I wasn't hopeful after seeing all of the people, but I was lucky enough to get a ticket and get one. I think that store ended up getting like 50-60 of them for walk-ins since I was #42, and there were some people after me that were still able to get them too. Glad I was fortunate enough to get one sinceI never had a SNESl I am really excited to play all of the games for the first time!
Anyone else considering getting this carrying case? I think it looks pretty nice with the soft foam. I want a case since I'll be using this on multiple TVs in the house and taking to friends' houses, etc.

Hrm...I wish there was an online store that held them in stock for more then 10 seconds...then again I'm broke right now so I can't get one even if I found one! Curse you end of the month...why must you give me money troubles...
I hope I can find one on the 1st...I get paid then. That would be nice so I didn't have to wait.

you should PM Empire. I think he was able to get an extra one. I know he was looking to help out a real Nintendo fan.

I would but I don't think he likes me that much so I doubt he'd sell it to me. Plus I don't have the money right now anyways.

you should still try. he has a good heart and really wants to do the community good.
I was pleasantly surprised to go to Game Stop at 9:50 and only see a few folks hanging around. Got to talk to some really cool people, especially a father who let his son skip school so he could go and get it with him. Nice to see.
Also very happy that even though I didn't pre-order there or show up last night when they were giving out tickets, I still was able to get one as were folks behind me.
I COMPLETELY forgot that I had gotten the SNES Classics Guide Book too. Had ordered it for free on Amazon thanks to my reward points, and I have to say, it's a really good read. I actually like it MUCH better than the NES version released last year.
I think Nintendo may have gotten this "right" this time, so I hope I can get an NES Classic next year when they release. Regardless, I have some high quality SNES controller pads/rubbers/shells if needed. haha.
I was one of the lucky ones that got the first Best Buy set of preorders at 1:15am on a Tuesday morning, so I picked up mine today at my local store...in an out within about 5 minutes, no problem at all. Playing Star Fox 2 tonight
Dont play it on easy. Because there is no challenge. Honestly though it is cool I can agree with them not releasing it. It is sub par for a star fox game.
At home with a sick kiddo today and I picked up my preorder at Gamestop. This thing is really nice and honestly it doesn't feel nearly as laggy as the NES Classic did. Haven't played it much yet tho.

Sub par? What can you even compare it to? The fact that you can transform your ship in the game itself and also free-fly without boundaries just like your newer space games should make it a pretty damn good game that was supposed to come out in 1996. It wasn't released because the N64 came out that year or the year after, and they saw no point in making a game for an old console when they could use newer technology with the N64 to make Star Fox 64 at the time. Not to mention, basically many of the concepts and gameplay that you see in Star Fox 64 came FROM Star Fox 2.

I appreciate the history lesson, but I am saying on easy the game is too short, has a huge lack of action, and is just sub par. I beat it in about 15 min on easy. The original starfox was way more action packed. I still can see why the game was abandoned. Had it been an exceptional game I am sure they still would have released it, but why would they when the 64 could take some of the ideas and allow there to be more sustainance for the game over all. Its my opinion. Maybe some of you want to worship it I do not know and if you do its fine. I am just saying for the time period it would have been a weak sequel.
The coolest thing in all of this is that my dad picked mine up from GS so when he brought it home and I plugged it in he looked at it and said "that's it?" Then I turned it on and he was mesmerized by all the games and the memories started to flood back to him. He said he is definitely going to get one (despite not having a system since the SNES itself). And then started telling me stories about how he'd come home from work and play SMW for hours. How my parents (mainly him) bought it for my older brother for Christmas when he was 2. Basically that he bought it for himself! Haha.
He also said that CastleVania IV was another one of his favorites after I scrolled over it and also that he "couldn't ever figure that Zelda one out."
I've got my money's worth already that's for sure.

Well, I went to Walmart to buy Star Fox 64 on launch day. Played the store demo and nobody came up to pass the controller. I beat the game in less than half an hour.
Easy to finish, but there was a lot more to it when you earn all the medallions and unlock bazooka mode for multiplayer.
Maybe Star Fox 2 is easy to finish. I never tried, but I assume there's more to it.

They eliminated the flash from Squawks the parrot in the Torchlight Trouble stage of Donkey Kong Country. Probably overly concerned about triggering epileptic seizure.
Makes me wonder if it was a ROM hack, a game-specific tweak in the emulator, or a system-wide video processing filter.
