  • What a great tool. Good job!

The only limitation for me so far is tracking PAL-specific games (I know there are some on the database, but it's far from complete).

    This includes the following:

    - PAL-only games;

    - name variants (Action in New York, Dynablaster, Probotector, etc)

    - small box releases;

    - games whose value differs considerably between NTSC and PAL (Stadium Events comes to mind)

I know some of these may be hard to implement, especially the last one. If there is something I can do to help improve the database, let me know.

Honestly I would even be willing to pay for a tool like this. It's super great!

Here are a few of what I'm talking about:

    Batman

    https://m.ebay.com/itm/1989-DC-Co...

    Baseball

    https://m.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-19...

    Karate King

I never once thought about tracking these but after checking ebay, it appears they actually sell. I will definitely keep these in mind for a future update.

Thanks man! The biggest issue with PAL games is honestly my lack of knowledge in the space. PM coming your way :-)

Thanks Alakhira, should now be fixed :-)
  • That reminds me. Roy's amiibo says Super Smash BORS.
  • Do you think it can be an option to be able to have a value by condition? Instead of using the average only?

Let's try an exemple : if I judge I've a game CIB 10/10 condition (from my opinion, when I compare with market).. It would be great if I could mark it as a 10/10, and instead of having the average value of all the sold for that game, it could be the average of the 10% of the more expensive sold. If I mark my game as a 6/10, so the value could be the average of the 10% of the not 30% most expensive sold, and the not 50% of the cheapest sold... well I dunno if you understand.. but it's clear for me! Lol

I know sometime a 10/10 game sold for a 7/10 price and a 4/10 can sold for a 8/10 price... but I guess it could be a great add..
  • I noticed that CJ Elephant Fugitive for Sega Game Gear is not listed or tracked at all. It is pretty rare but it does exist.

I have had this exact same thought. This idea works very well when there is alot of data at your disposal (mario karts, smash bros ... etc), but fails when you have a game that does not sell very often. I'm not saying that it isn't possible, but I have yet to come up with a solution that will work across all consoles :-(.

I could have swore that I added that game to the site. I'll look into it and see what happened.

Maybe have a condition for a minimum sales to work.. 20 maybe? If not, use the average for that game...

or when it's a low selling title regroup in 3 "hidden" group.  (like if someone mark 3/10, it regroup 1 to 5/10 sold, 6-7-8/10 toghether and 9-10/10 to make the average because people tend to overrate them game condition!)..)

  • Hey I love what you've done here! Added all my games and am looking forward to tracking my collection. Two points:

    1. It would be neat to see more detailed collection value tracking. Like charts that track the value of the collection month to month. I really like how currently you can see the change in collection value over the prior month, and think this can be improved on and expanded.

    2. There is only one item I've found that seems to have an inaccurate value. I bought a new and complete NES Aladdin Deck Enhancer set on eBay for $107, and added all these games. They all seem to have accurate values, with one exception. "Dizzy the Adventurer", the pack in game for the deck enhancer software, is valued at $311 which is far too high. Even clicking on the price data link, the value on GameValueNow is $37, which seems much more accurate. So I'm not sure where the $311 value came from but it is the only game I found that doesn't seem to have an accurate value.

Again, nothing but praise from me for what you've done here. Very easy to use, good layout and presentation, just a great job. Any idea when the ability to define your own complete set will be implemented? Thanks!
  • Would be nice to track system variant and strategy guide.
  • Just a quick note, the game "Diva Starz Mall Mania" for GBC is spelled incorrectly with an S: "Diva Stars Mall Mania".
  • One more, I don't see an entry for "Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny" for Neo Geo Pocket Color.

We are working on getting system variants added to the site. We have slowed down in the last 2 weeks as we have a big project for GVN that we are finishing up. Is there a specific console that you would like to see hardware and accessories added? I can make it next on the list :-)

Fixed. Thanks for the heads up on this.

    SNES first and NES second!

    same order for strategy guide!

  • Can't seem to find TMNT: Mutants In Manhattan for PS3 on the site. Just an FYI.

You couldn't find it because it wasn't there :-P. I just added it. Somehow it got missed when I added the other versions. Lisings for it will get pulled tonight and prices will be populated soon after. Thanks for the heads up!

  • No problem! I am happy to help.
  • I this is a pretty awesome tool, thanks!
  • So are the animal crossing e reader listings for a pack or a complete set?
  • hey Hoagie, quick head's up. I flagged a bunch of "Kid Dracula" games. It seems that a bunch of the ones in the list are various Euro versions, which are considerably cheaper than the US version. Just wanted to let you know. I don't think there's a good way to filter these out since most of them didn't even mention the region. You have to look at the photos to discern the difference, even though they all are easily distinguishable.
  • In the Collection value section in the top right corner, if it shows a 9% rise from last month is there any way to see what games went up or down from last month?
  • Missing Game: Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp (CD-i)

Bug Report: Cannot sort by CIC on TurboGrafx-CD page: http://gamevaluenow.com/turbografx-cd

    Feedback:

    - I'm really enjoying the collection sharing feature. It lets me and my local friends keep track of each others' collections. However, the only view available is the "Entire Collection" view. It would be great if we could also see the dashboard view along with set completion and total value by console; it presents such a clean way of navigating through the collection.

    Suggestion:

    - It would be nice to have tracking for the 64DD and its small library of titles. Either as part of the N64 set (like with Jaguar / Jaguar CD) or as its own set (like with Sega CD / TurboGrafx-CD).
  • Any chance you could get Famicom and Super Famicom games added?

How do you share your collection? I don't see any option to share anywhere?

The Animal Crossing e-readers are for the complete sets by Series. We may add them individually, I have not checked to see how many sell in this fashion.

Fixed this yesterday when I found some spare time :-). I will make sure to keep an eye out for this in the future. Thanks rlh!

Currently, you can only see how much a consoles collection has moved and not by individual game. This is something we plan to address in the future though :-).

CIC most certainly is not sorting at the moment. I will get that fixed before the next update.

I appreciate the feedback on the new shareable feature! A shareable dashboard is definitely something that can get added. It was actually where I initially started with the feature but moved to the collection itself so that I could get it out a bit quicker. This will allow you to send someone to a specific collection as well which would be nice.

We are currently focused on getting the NTSC sets rounded out and all of the necessary features added to the collection tracker before we move onto tracking any other regions unfortunately. It is definitely in our plans though.

I found it. First thought with it, you allow us to hide the prices of the items, but when I do it still shows the total values for the collection at the top. Guessing there isn't any way to hide that.

You sure can :-). There should be a toggle for "Stats" in the share settings.

    Oh ok, I see now.

Now I'm torn. I like showing stats, but would rather not share price.

Also would be great if the stats were dynamic to what i'm looking at. So if I select a collection to just show Gameboy, it would be great to see the items/instructions/boxes for the just gameboy.

just my two cents. Really liking the tool though.
