That looks really good! I hate drywalling too I just finished an episode in a similar shaped area about a year ago. Yours looks nicer, good job! Please post a pic with you playing a game in there eventually!
The reason why the wires were different gauges (most likely) is tht they ran 14g for lighting and 12g for power (which is acceptable) assuming they ran romex/Nm cable.

Those new pics don't do your game room any justice. It looks as though the image is smooshed, making the room seem more narrow than what it is compared to the other pics. Looking good though, can't wait to see the end result.
What's the height of the tallest point in that room (looks uncomfortable for tall people lol).
Its about 8.5' at the wall. Im 5'11'' and have no problems manuvering. Takes a little getting used to, but its a pace I can call my own so I am not complaining. My GF does hit her head every time she sits on the couch though, which I laugh at every time.
Its much bigger than it looks in the picture. Its a good size space, roughly 25'Lx10'W.

NECA. They are pretty amazing. Its as if they took the actual turtles from the movie and shrunk them down.
