Do you collect from other regions?
And if so does it matter wich ones? Japan ofcourse has their own style on boxes and games but lets say the game is German or French with all the adds and stuff are you going to want it? In my case i do have a preference for GB games or consoles (the only thing that wasn't slower in PAL regions, i refuse inferior products even if it isn't played) for SCN stuff but still like the American releases, maybe the Japense ones slightly more when there is an option. German/French/Netherlands on a step below but i still appreciate those aswell.

what about games from india?
Available in NA? That's the version I'll get.
Not available in NA? Available in EU and compatible with my hardware? EU it is! (the only game I have so far that's landed here is Parodius on the NES)
Only available in JP? Well I guess that's the one I'm buying!

India isn't a separate region but it is classified as PAL. All the Sony and Microsoft games are PAL over here. Nintendo doesn't have an official presence so you can find games of all regions but mostly NTSC and PAL. There are a handful of games made specifically for the Indian market on the PS2 but I don't collect Sony and Microsoft games.
And a few fami games that have advantages over the NES versions.

Which version of Final Fantasy XII for the PS2 did you get? The UK English release or anything in the Indian language?
I love the challenge of trying to figure out methods to buy rare stuff from foreign countries. I've managed to put together 3/4ths of an A'Can fullset, while almost zero A'Can games have been available on eBay. My most recent purchase were 4 Game Master consoles from Taiwan, a system most people haven't even seen. Its fun to find and learn about consoles you'd never heard of, until you saw them available for purchase!
Importing is my jam!
Oh man, a thread made for me! *Without* using eBay, I've imported directly from Japan, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Denmark, Germany, the UK, Italy, Spain, France, and Australia. I've shopped in person for retro games in Japan, Germany, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands. Brazil has been a major holdout, I've had a lack of luck being able to import any Tectoy goodness.

I've learned a bunch importing Final Fantasy XII from Europe. Germany and France have some fast shipping. Took forever to get my package from Spain.
I am going to be in Europe next spring Nd I hope to find some physical exclusives for some region free consoles.
I really only stick with US releases (not even Canadian releases of games like Mattel Zelda). However, the exception is Chrono Trigger. I have an SFC version CIB, the prerelease ROM CIB, and the Chinese bootleg CIB.
Pics of the Chinese bootleg?
Even if you're not into importing, I'd recommend everyone to watch GameCenter CX or check out the FDS Guidebook from HG101.

Sure thing! It's a Famicom demake of the game. I've got pictures of every page in the manual, too, if you're interested in them. I can't read Chinese, so I have no idea what anything says.
I don't really want to get into making a list but I probably have like 20-30 imports. As long as they're fun and I can play them I'll seek things out I care to play around with wherever it may have come from.
