I think the World Series is Cleveland's to lose. I honestly don't see any challenges in the AL, and only the Nationals or Diamondbacks would make me concerned for the World Series...also props to Houston for getting Justin Verlander, a pitcher the Indians have literally owned for the last several years.
The Yankees are well built for the playoffs with just their bullpen. But I'd really like to see the Astros make a run at the title, unless the Cubs are still in it of course.

well they lost it. What a choke job
Astros vs Yankees ALCS
Yeah, especially after the 2nd game where they showed what they can accomplish, they just took a huge dump. It's a shame their starting pitching only showed up twice, and they lost Carrasco's game anyways. I figured the Yankees would be their toughest matchup, now its their only one. Still it will be nice to see Houston or Washington win the WS now.
Astros vs Yankees is a pretty sick match up, looking forward to it.
I think Astros starting pitchers and offense will crush the Yankees. Last I saw it looked like the Cubs were closing out the Nationals. Really interested in Dodgers vs Cubs. WS winner comes from there I bet.
Yeah and everyone said the Indians would murk the Yankees, and look what happened. This Yankees team seems to enjoy being the underdogs, not saying they're gonna win, but it should be a heck of a series.
Dodgers vs Cubs too, right on. Can't believe Scherzer got lit up like that. in 3 batters they had a wild pitch, catcher interference, then a bean ball. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Yeah for real. I tuned in just to cheer him on for his bullpen appearance, and was quite dissapointed. Being a Michigander, I was really hoping for a Verlander/Scherzer matchup in the World Series... but, alas.
Astros/Cubs would be cool because that would mean Houston has an opportunity to lose to both Chicago baseball teams in the World Series. They are looking very strong though, glad Keuchel came back to Cy Young quality because he was looking very bad for awhile after the injury. The Astros rebuilt extremely well over the years to get here. Yankees would be exciting to see in the series as well though.
I'm actually pulling for your Astros in this series. Missed the game tonight but I'm happy to hear they won. Did you see the New York Post article this morning about the game? Can't remember exactly what it was now, but something like not everything is bigger in Texas, with a picture of Judge standing next to Altuve. They ran a similar type article when the Rangers were facing the Yankoffs in the 2010 ALCS where they basically said all the Yankees had to do to win was just throw the pinstripes on the field and walk away. I swear it's the fans and NY media that make me hate that team, and not the team itself.

Honestly, the Yankees as a team are pretty awesome, but it's impossible to root for them because of their fanbase.
I don't hate the Yankees and the reason is because they are the greatest North American sports franchise ever by a large margin. So much history and never really fielding a bad team makes it hard for me to hate them. Plus pinstripes with no name on the jersey is so damn nice looking.

Oh yeah. Those home uniforms are the best in baseball.
put the names on there. hate no name jerseys. This "not about the individual" crap they try to spew. well guess what, it is about the individual in baseball. One of the most individual team sports there is. When I flip on a game, and I cant see someones face it would be nice to know who made the play. I dont have all the numbers memorized for all the teams lol.
Only the MLB would be as dumb as to put a Houston Astros playoff game during Texas OU College football game. Simply stunning
Also they put and Astros ALCS Game 4 overlap the Houston Rockets Season opener vs Golden State.
I know sports will conflict this time of year but cmon. TV ratings wise putting them during the biggest texas football game of the year, and rockets warriors nba tip off is idiotic if you want casual fans to watch. These conflicting times have been known before they even made the schedule. Last night rockets had their final preseason game vs the spurs at Houston during game 1 of the alcs. The stadiums are like 2 blocks apart. I bet traffic was hell

And you made my point about the fans.
I’m not a Yankees fan. I’m a Chicago fan for all sports, I just respect the franchise. Also what a lame comment haha.
Myself and just about every other Cards fan are pulling for the Astros. Not a fan of the other 3. Every series (including the wild cards) so far has ended with the systematic elimination of the team I was rooting for, except the Astros-Sox.

Let me explain my "lame" comment. Your fandom is based for the team largely based on what the team did more than 50 years ago I'm assuming since you pointed to the history. And the other part of your fandom is based on the style of their uniforms. That part reminds me of a Seinfeld bit about just loving a team because of their uniforms. That said, I don't think my comment was lame. Not to mention they have used the very concentrated fan base they have to throw money at their team to continue that winning tradition. They have bought many of those championships. They even bought the greatest player in their history. They have brought up some of their own who have been great ones. The way they have currently built there team is absolutely based on good team management. But that hasn't been their MO for the better part of 50 years. There's not much to respect there.

I hate the second wild card the way it is. Id be fine with it if it were 3 game series
Agreed

Gotta get a LA championship

Can we say he owns the yankees yet?
Wooooooooo astros take game 1

edit: actually after looking at replays that definitely wasn’t interference.
verlander complete game win. dominant
Astros 2-0 series lead
