Also a lot of games are essentially watered down or terrible versions of other games of the same genre.

Well not everyone is a grumpy old bastard

This is true haha. I'm also pretty picky about what defines a good game. Most of these hidden gems list for me are games that are simply 'playable' (not the list posted above) and are only better than the worst games which would make any game look like a hidden gem. Bah humbug
  • Looks like the East Coast got all their shipments this morning.... still waiting for more over here.
  • SNES classic was available on Gamestop.com just now for only like 5 seconds...
  • It reads online only
  • People are still looking for these? :-)
  • Since the news was out about them being available at/on GameStop today (from the Verge) I know someone who went this morning and got one.

He said he showed up an hour before they opened at one store, and when they did he asked about it.  The store said they were waiting for the truck that should arrive between 12-2pm.  He waited around for a bit then called another store location and they already had them available so he went over and got one.

This seems to be the trick to getting it.  Figure out when the stores are getting the next shipment, then just put in the effort to call or just go in that day and get it.
  • I walked into GameStop after 3:30 PM and got one for a friend (his birthday was yesterday).

I gotta stop using the credit card...

I may try to pick one up casually at some point.  Unless you're doing circuits so you can horde them.  In which case I'd say fuck it!

You and your brother seem like some awesome dudes.  Just sayin'.  Between this and your NA auction, very noice.  I'm a believer in Karma!

I'm looking for one more mostly for a buddy in Seattle.  Target said around the 20th, so I'd recommend you go after it then.  They are showing massive stock all the way from the East coast to the Midwest now so it's moving our way.  I'll sell you an extra if I pick it up at cost + 100%

I see it, thanks. You're right, plenty showing except for the empty blackspot where I am
  • There's like a black hole in the east of KY, TN and IN not having any more or less unlike all the others where it's all green lit up like a christmas tree. Regional shipment delay I guess.

It is odd that there is a dead zone in the center of that region. I'm on vacation in Destin, Florida, and stopped into a GameStop and was able to get one. I asked if I could have the shipping box and it looks like this shipment came from Sheperdsville, KY. Weird that the KY regional distribution center wouldn't ship to that dead zone but would to a coastal town in FL. The other stores I called said they didn't get their shipment today but should tomorrow and apparently the western states didn't get anything so hopefully stock becomes available to them tomorrow. Side note, this GameStop had 9 available but there are 6 to a box and they got two boxes. Wonder where the other 3 went...

  • Damn no love for the west coast
  • Washington is as bare as a babies bottom...damn it.
  • Victoria, BC has them. Road trip!

  • Figured I'd share my story with you guys. We had a bad storm a little over a week ago. I thought my electronics were plugged into a surge protector, but it turns out it was a regular power strip. Some of my electronics got fried, including my TV, and the SNES Classic. However the NES Classic, Blu-Ray player, and Xbox 360 were fine. Odd. Anyway, I weighed my options and found out Nintendo already offers repairs on the SNES Classic. So, I set up a repair, they emailed me an overnight label. I sent it off on Thursday, and had it back by Tuesday. They overnighted it back, and charged me nothing for the repair. They let me know that they couldn't repair my unit, so they completely replaced it. They also let me know that this meant any save data could not be recovered (which is fine, I had maybe an hour into Super Mario World and that's it.) Overall, it was a pretty great resolution to my unfortunate problem. Kudos to Nintendo!

That's pretty impressive.  I honestly wouldn't expect Nintendo to cover that type of replacement for free.  How long is that warranty? (I don't have mine in front of me to check)

I am not sure how long the actual warranty is. I honestly expected to be charged something for the repair. I was shocked when I got the shipping notice.
  • All the targets on the west coast just re-upped today. Was able to grab another this morning
  • I'm also seeing BINs on eBay for less than $150.

I can just taste the scalpers tears from thousands of miles now.
  • Some are going for 120-130 shipped which is very refreshing to see. After tax, fees and shiping, thats like a 15-20$ profit for the scumbag scalpers. Still funny seeing people with like 10 available too.

Hopefully they will still be shipping them for months!
  • I love this thing so much. I want to pick up a spare or two once they are easy to get (walk in and get one). Hopefully Japan hits saturation and I can get a SFC Classic by years end
  • Ohhh SFC DROOL!!
