Ebay won't let me sell Resident Evil CODE: Veronica.

It looks like there's a problem with this listing.

From your title, you appear to be selling a video game cheat, code or game save. Video game cheats, codes or game saves must be physically delivered and listed under the Video Games > Other category. Please go back to edit your title or category.

Don't know what to tell you.

If I type in the UPC and use the default description from MUSE it still gives me the error.

  • Maybe this is a new scam-catcher change they just put in place. This is unbelievably half-assed.

I've had issues with other ebay titles before usually involving selling a system. Never with a game because of the game title.

There should be a bypass button. OK I've read the disclaimer and this does not apply but there isn't one.

  • I would probably just change the title to Resident Evil Veronica, as peeps will still know what you're talking about.

But that's weird that it wouldn't let you use their stock title?

Oh yeah I believe you, I'm just trying to wrap my head around what the hell they're doing here   Maybe they just happened to implement it right before you wanted to post it

  • Sounds like lazy programming to me.
  • Can you enter in CODE as C0DE (a zero for the letter O)?
  • I was gonna say use an accented letter or different symbol to represent another letter (like "
  • Do searches go into descriptions too? Couldn't just make the title Resident Evil Veronica and then in the description put Code Veronica?

    Semantic satiation. It sucks. lol

  • The problem with altering the title without code or putting in a zero instead of O, ebays titles are everything with search. Your stuff wont show up if someone searches with the word code

ebay does shit like this to me all the time. Its so frustrating. They disabled active content on listings. Since I once used turbo lister and through years of sell similar, I have alot of invisible html code that triggers their system. Its utter garbage. If you group edit the listings it does nothing. If you do them one at a time ebay recognizes it and you can click the remove link they give you. If they can detect it, why cant they just disable or remove it. Their programming is so lazy.

I get so many errors and glitches.

Their worst new feature is their group search results in their search. If they ever implement that as default it will be the downfall of the site. They have no clue what they are doing anymore.

    no
  • Wonder if this is a new policy or if it is just me.

Someone else try to list one and see if they let you.

No James Pond 2: Code name Robocod, though.

I'm going to create a game called Codemaster Codey and the Coded Coders: The Coded Code of Codestan and watch eBay's servers explode.

I tried it, but I did it manually and it allowed it. Dunno if it's something with their presets? I haven't tried the preset yet (If I have time I will, or try it when I get home since I'm at work)

Have you tried to manually create the listing?

not sure what you mean by manually.

I tried with MUSE and without MUSE both a no go.

  • Just got off the phone with Ebay. Transfered twice. Well over an hour.

    No one there can help.

    What a joke.

Not sure what you mean by MUSE (That preloaded preset ebay stuff?) lol

If you're doing it without any presets and just going through categories and filling out all the info manually, then it might be a bug or if Ebay really does have some sort of selective script implemented.

Are you trying via mobile or PC? If anything, try on a different PC and see if that helps. I do know that some high-volume sellers tend to have problems with their accounts over time. You might have to call Ebay and see what's going on if it's not allowing you to post in the proper category with or without MUSE.

Edit: Just seen your post about calling Ebay. Ugh, man I wish I can somehow help you out.

Did you try clearing the cache and cookies on your computer. Seems like its a glitch. Ebay sometimes does this to me, and it eventually lets me. But usually from a different computer. The glitch keeps recognizing and not allowing it.

    Ebays site is shit now.

I just did a search for an action figure.  It had "the" in the name. I put the in there and it brought no results. I took out the and got 11, but the funny thing is every single one of them had "the" in the listing just like i had typed previously. So basically most people on ebay arent seeing all the results in search they should be seeing. Their search is so manipulative. Their algorithms are fucked up now.

While on the phone with eBay they tried and got the same results. So while I am not sure what the problem or solution is I do know that it is not my computer.
