Victory! Took me to some sketchy corners of the city.... got some stories.... some greasy deals, lots of buying bulk just to get 5-6 issues that I needed from a lot... and of course overpaying ebay for a couple issues, but I live in Canada so pretty much had to do it all local since ebays shipping program is a gouging joke to us. BUTTTT like 90% of the issues I got for .50 cent to a dollar. It did take about a year and a half though, met some good people doing trades, and I think its quite an accomplishment, they just aren't that common and most if not all have the posters and inserts (nice thing about having double triples to choose from etc...) Sold all my extras for not much... no supply and no demand... made it a weird thing to collect but I think its one of the coolest kind of collections in gaming, especially given some really cool and unique posters and inserts

    Cool! I'm also trying to go for the full set...but locally. Which is taking forever since I never see them anymore...and certainly not in good condition with all the little inserts! Drives me up the wall when I find some and there's no poster/cards...



    Since you have a full set...let me ask you about Issue 195...did yours or any copy you've seen come with a DVD?

    I posted in that thread but since no one posts in it...my question was never answered. So I wonder if there was anything to this DVD thing. I'm going for a complete insert set...I must know!

    Congrats on making the set! It is one of the best sets to go for IMO... but that opinion is fairly one sided

    I'm missing issue 2 and quite a few of the issues above 250. It's a pain to collect for. It's a pipe dream to compete the set but I always love picking them up when I see ones im missing.

    Haha ya no variants or nintendo power advance for me. I have a couple of the canadian nintendo power flash but the core sets good enough for me

    Nice work. I had no desire to collect them after like issue 60. I focused on those. Somehow I ended up with 3 sets. Everyone needs mint copies and reader copies!!

    Thanks man! Ya i got lucky on the can, sniped it on an ebay auction for $40. Thing is people put them up there for crazy high buy it nows but its not the true value, just keep your eyes open for an auction

    I actually bought one of those trash cans today coincidentally. Been following them for ever, $40 is a steal. Usually at $60 and under they are well rusted. $80-$100 is more usual with minor wear and Mint goes significantly higher. I'm happy to get mine under $60 with no rusting, that is quite hard with any of the NES era trash cans (Zelda 1/2, Punchout, Mario).

    Didnt realize they had other kinds! Mine has very minor rusting but all in all good shape. Actually use it as my trash can in the basement but have a strict no liquid rule haha

    Well done!!

    With all the doubles I had accumulated for the first 10 years, I had brief thoughts of trying to find as many issues as I could with the renewal covers still attached. Later on they would print renewal cover variants or put stickers on the covers. I probably had 40 different renewal issues.
