Back in the day as soon as songs were released they often were almost instantly covered by other artists - Gale Storm released her version of "I Hear You Knocking in 1955. The original version by Smiley Lewis was also released in 1955. Didn't take Gale very long to cash in on it (it was a very big hit for her).
