Guilty pleasure games?

  • I love the Burger King Xbox 360 games. Pocket Bike Racer is a pretty tight little racing game. Damn I wish the disc drive on my 360 still worked.
  • SNES games 3 Ninjas Kick Back, Dennis the Menace, Double Dragon V, Radical Rex and The Blues Brothers all come to mind.
  • I don't even know where to get started...

Rambo on the NES, maybe? But it is terrific! Can't be a guilty pleasure!

Superman on the NES? One of the greatest games of all time!

Superman on the Atari! Awesome in so many levels!

Athena on the NES? It is perfect!

Conan on the NES? A treasure!

Atari 2600 Pac Man? I play the heck out of it!

ET on the 2600? Quite fun!

Jaws on the NES! Great game! Everyone should play it!

Super Pitfall? The first NES game I have ever beaten. It is terrific!

All those Micronics ports of arcade games? Give me them all!

The list goes on and on, but I wouldn't call those guilty pleasures. I have no guilty in admitting I love them!
  • Oh, here's another one that I'm pretty sure is true for all of us-- we probably all have a demo disc that we wore out.

I had a couple that I know I played a ton. Oddly, other than the Squaresoft Collector's CD vol. 1 I don't remember much but I KNOW I had some PS1 demos. I think the memories are blurry because if there was a good game on a demo disc, I bought it. Twisted Metal I/II sounds familiar, but I eventually ended up buying that one.
  • FMV games like Ground Zero Texas. Which reminds me....*buys a long overdue copy of Kids on Site*....there we go.

man I miss demo discs. I had one on Xbox, I remember Vexx and Kung fu chaos as the ones I played the most. I need to find another copy of that
  • Bubsy SNES

have no problem saying I like it though
  • NES black box Baseball. 10 Yard Fight would probably be a close runner up.

I rented Bubsy back in the mid-90's and I found it to be a pretty decent game. I mean, it's no Super Mario World or anything but as a SNES mascot platformer, it was very playable. I don't recall how far into the game I got before returning it, so I don't know if the later stages kill it or not.

I'll say it right now: black box Baseball may be my preferred baseball game on the NES. Yes, it's very basic, it has no MLB license (I honestly couldn't care less about having "real" players in my game) and fielding can be a little slow sometimes...but I love it. Just played it about a month ago and still think it's swell. I tend to hate the "behind the batter" viewing angle of most other baseball games and would much rather have Baseball's "bird's eye view". I also don't want to be bothered with player stats in my video baseball. I just want to hit, pitch, run and field. Don't make me navigate through spreadsheets of player numbers for 5 minutes before I can start playing. Whenever I play other video baseball titles, I always skip straight through that garbage.

  • Nothing is a guilty pleasure game. If someone is giving you crap over a game you enjoy, they're a prick and not worth your time.

I don't know if it's "guilty pleasure" but I sometimes enjoy card games online such as Texas Hold Em, Spades, Blackjack, virtual slots etc... I also enjoy board games and gameshows such as Wheel of Fortune on PS3 or NES...or Monopoly on PS4 or N64.

Mario is Missing on SNES is another one that comes to mind. When I first got my SNES it came with a handful of games and one of them was Mario is Missing. Sure it crushed my soul that it wasn't a Super Mario World platformer but I played it anyways. The music will stick in your head and you learn something. It's certainly not in my top 5 Mario games but I did enjoy it back in the day. I had Carmen San Diego on Genesis too which was a lot of fun in terms of educational games.

Dark Earth is a Windows '95/'98 game on PC most people I know have never played. It's PS1 quality graphics and the story is good. There's gameplay on Youtube but you can't find it on Gog, Steam, etc. The company who made it closed a long time ago and no one knows who owns the rights.

    Oregon Trail games.
  • Played some amiibo festival tonight. I enjoy popping that game in now and again even though it is terrible. Nothing like touching an amiibo to plastic for 45 minutes.
  • Tifa Tan X with porn images.

The gameshow games can be a blast, especially as party games. All the NES ones I've played are fun.
  • Dragon Warrior. Yeah it's monotonous and the music is irritating over time, but damn it I love that game! Great way to kill a few hours.

The GBC port is much more bearable, also includes DW 2!

  • Knights of Xentar with the NR-18 patch installed.

Also Assassins Creed IV (don't like any of the others in the series)

I had that port, it made the Gold Man easier and worth a lot more money.  Old gold man would give max 200, new ones gave up to 650 I think.  I guess some could consider it an improvement so it's not so grindy, but that's one of the things I liked about the game, all the grinding.
  • You sir, are a bit of a hero. I commend you.

    Sorry for the double post!

But again, you are my hero lol

Then I realize that my 6 month old pre-order of the new Gran Turismo is being delivered tomorrow - suhweet!!!!!

Really though...it's stupid how much fun Rocket League is playing with a buddy and kicking back a few beers. Like really stupid.

Dudddee you should add my roommate!! He plays it everyday.

I love Dragon Warrior. It is grindy (which is normally something I can't stand in a game) but I don't care. It's probably largely the nostalgia talking but there's something very magical about that game for me. Speaking of the NES original, of course.
  • Action 52 on nes   no joke.

and any off the wall homebrew/hack i can find. like that cornball cock suckers game. heck i even played a mega man 3 hack that was themed with my little pony XD im not a pony fan but im a sucker for mega man... so heck, why not.

  • Clay Fighter (Genesis) and Star Wars Masters of Teras Kasi (PS1). Both pretty bad fighting games, but they were the two fighting games I played as a kid so...

If it's megaman I suppose it's ok. But action 52 legit almost broke up a 20+ year friendship of mine
  • Jaws on the Nintendo, some says it's a terrible game but I live playing it for some reason. I have to agree I can play any dragon warrior for hours at a time.
  • So battlefront two is out now, but for some reason I haven't given it a shot and mindlessly okay survival modes over without even trying the game I ordered lol. And it's not even different maps, but rather just echo base and the depot. For hours on end.
