  • Good they need to go down.
  • Last one sold at auction for $663. Peak in the past 90 days was $999. One for auction with bidding over $676.
  • At least you don't have to worry about the label being fake!

I think it broke 1k at a point. It was more than Little Samson, but Samson took the lead

Never seen it pass Little Samson. Average high loose price per GVN is $929 in July of last year. Maybe a mint Flint will be worth more than Sucky Samson for sure. But GVN factors all sold listings. Some very crappy copies of games effects the average so one would really have to look closer.

Samson didn't catch fire until 2012/2013 when a lot of the NES library started doubling / tripling overnight.  It didn't overtake F2 consistently until maybe 2015 or so.  F2 used to be the measuring stick for all NES licensed and Samson was way down the line.

When I started collecting in 2008, Bubble Bobble 2 was actually the measuring stick right behind F2.  Pricecharting had F2 around $300 then, BB2 in the mid to low $100s and Samson was probably $50-$75.

There's a lot more to NES collecting than just the last couple of years GVN has existed.
  • Guessing those warehouse finds did saturate the market some.

I'd love to get Hagane. The current price is just hurting. I know if I see it in the wild, like i did foe sunset riders and demon's crest, I'd do what I had to do to get it...or cry. One of the 2

yeah I started around 2009-2010 and I remember F2 being a little over 300, maybe 350. Samson was 125-150. When did you start collecting sign guy?

I started collecting casually back in 2007, and got really into it around 2010. I don't remember expecting some of these prices just 10 years ago to skyrocket so quickly. Very interesting to see how the market dances. I think there are only a few games that hold a consistent value regardless of what year it is.
  • This thread reminded me about a thread from 4 years ago about the price potential on these two and which would hit $1k first:

I remember that thread.  I also had a couple of decent threads charting the price of Samson but Photobucket ate the images I had in them

  • Photo bucket strikes again!
  • Photobucket! There's something I haven't heard in a LONG time!

No doubt the filter in which I view this is much different. I began collecting mid 2015!! Huge reason I love this forum. Helps me adjust my filter!

I'm kinda hopeful Hagane continues to climb closer to the $1,000 mark. I wouldn't mind trading my copy for a Little Samson some day should the prices equalize.
