A bit of a letdown considering it was episode 100, I agree - it seems they put more effort into the 2-hour Talking Dead afterwards lol.
The S8 premiere wasn't too bad, I really, really, really, really, really like the new ruthless Rick Grimes. We've seen parts of this side of him before, but he's full blown soldier survival mode now with everybody he doesn't know being an enemy.
You had to enjoy the group taking out all the lookouts and what not, and for them to straight up roll into the sanctuary, open fire and set off explosions - damn! So really though, if they randomly started firing at the ~5 leaders there during the countdown, how in the world did they miss all of em?
Oh and there were 2 burials shown...one for Sasha...who else did I miss die in the S7 finale?
I took that as glen and abraham and getting revenge

I'm one episode behind right now, and it's been a bummer, to say the least. I feel like each season is starting to drag out the storyline further and further. I felt like this during the prison. It was way too long!
It has been a bit of a bummer, kind of "loose" feeling - hard to keep track of the different places they are ambushing etc. The few people Rick's group lost have had no emotional value yet to the audience, and same with the saviors, so I think they're kind of spinning their wheels.

Imo the directors are doing it on purpose to make the war feel more chaotic and fill time. Im sure theres some artsy fartsy design there but i like objectives and accomplishing them. Finally though it seems we get back on track now that the initial raids are over.

and i really hate the jesus storyline this season. I understand workers living, but these are soldiers. Asshole soldiers that want to kill you. I dont get jesus going into the compound and shooting everyone before they even know it then a person surrenders and hes all changed? Then that person tricks him, tries to kill him and he still feels this way? I dont get how you can just raid and kill, but then be 100 percent against killing them because they got trapped and surrendered?

Haha, I love that he just tossed the bike against that rail going after Rick. Pretty sweet they got a "big gun" now too and finally we get to see some of badass Carol again.

Yes, last night's episode was easily the best of this season IMO. Not necessarily "best" as in the good guys winning, just best as in the most exciting and actually holding your attention all the way through.

It looks like they are going to try and trick the saviors with that big gun case - I'm thinking the rest of the first half of S8 should be good!
