I love the doofus' justification that since it is from the cucumber family it's a vegetable... cucumbers are a fruit because they contain seeds and come from the flowering part of the plant.

You'd think yokels in Oklahoma would know something like that.

I heard somewhere that watermelon is actually a berry. Thought that was interesting
  • Whoa...

Botanical berries not commonly known as berries include bananas,[15][16] tomatoes,[1] grapes, eggplants (aubergines), persimmons, watermelons, and pumpkins:

  • Bananas followed by pears.

Yeah, that encompasses pretty much every fruit that doesn't have a "stone".

  • How has nobody mentioned peaches?

Nothing quite like a juicy fuzzy peach!
  • What!? No one likes oranges? By far my favorite fruit. Nothing comes close.
  • NOT red delicious apples. They are the worst apple!

I like most other apples, pears, oranges, grapes, cantaloupe, and watermelon. I like raspberries but few other berries. We had a raspberry bush when I was a kid.

But the fruit I eat most frequently is tomatoes. On sandwiches, pizza, and pasta, the kind of stuff you wouldn't do with any other fruit.

    Numerous mentions of clementines, though.

  • I love all kinds of fruit. But we should consider ourselves lucky: in places like our beloved Japan, fruit is a luxury treat that you don't find everyday due to lack of farming resources, and a decent apple could cost around $5. They're usually sold as sweets like a cake or pie. Here, we take them for granted because they're everywhere.

You sure about that? Cause I was in Japan recently and there was, like, fruit.

On topic, don't eat much fruit, I prefer vegetables mostly. A banana is probably the best, because it is a great meal substitute if you are on a diet. Other than that, I guess my favourite fruits are the vegetable ones, like tomatoes and peppers and such... Chili peppers are the best fruit!

There is no way watermelon is a vegetable. It tastes good. Same way that a tomato is not a fruit. It tastes like shit.

  • Manila mangoes and Hass avocados. Nothing beats those two in my book.

*Ahem* *Nerd snort* ACTUALLY, while the word 'fruit' is scientific term with a specific meaning within the field of botany, the word 'vegetable' is a cullinary term which has no specific biological meaning. That means a tomato is BOTH a fruit in the botanical sense AND a vegetable in the cullinary sense! *Nerd chortle* *Pushes comically thick glasses back up bridge of nose*

Finally someone with some common sense! Tomatoes are fucking disgusting!
  • I Love Raspberries. Add a little sugar drools
  • This is an absolutely impossible question for me to answer since I like and eat so many different fruits. Where do I even start?

Berries (all kinds), grapes (all colors), pineapple, pears, mangos, watermelon, pluots, papaya, bananas, oranges, clementines, tangerines, etc...

It would probably be easier to give a list of fruits I don't like, since there are only a handful of those.

Go ahead, quit holding out on us! Give those nasty fruit some hate! >

(Enjoying this thread way more than I thought I would, for some reason!)
  • Love apples and oranges (original, I know.)

But part of the reason I look forward to Christmas so much is because it's really the only time where I get to have blackberries and raspberries, which are great with pavlova. (If anyone knows what that is, I appreciate you.)
  • Dried cherries as they're good for gout.
  • Bananas

    Tasty and easy to eat.

I know it may sound suprising, but I don't like cantoloupe, honeydew, or cocunets.

I also forgot to mention above that I like cherries and nectarines a lot too!
