  • "Hot shot pulling the trigger" shame on you, there's few people in the world willing to take on a profession where you truly help people... teachers nurses doctors paramedics, even fewer people willing to risk their lives to do it, fire fighters military gang counselors, and thankfully for you even fewer willing to help people, risk their lives, and face the ill informed judgemental people like yourself, and continue to soldier on despite it, because somebody has to...maybe he made a mistake and maybe he didnt either way it's sad you think its your place to armchair quarterback and assume you'd do any better, step up or shutup I think
  • Dude, I get the pressure. This guy got shot opening a door. That was someone who shouldn't be there 7 year vet or not. Don't give me that bullshit.

You are the armchair quartback saying an innocent man should be shot while opening a door
  • Shoot first ask questions later. Who cares if they are innocent or it's a false call.

That's your fucking job. To make sure they are guilty before ending a life. You know the consequences.
  • Your assuming that's what happend, my point being it may have gone down very different than that
  • Every report says that is how it happened. I bet you think Brailsford is innocent.

An officer is supposed to commit their lives serving the law. Some of these guys are cowards killing innocent people hoping they don't die. They don't deserve to be there.
  • Clearly your reading into what you want to and have a bias, no point debating, you have your beliefs and I have mine
  • Your belief is cowards should kill innocent people because they don't uphold the law they pretend to serve.
  • My belief is Police, who risk their lives to protect the public, even hateful people like yourself, have just as much right to go home as anyone else at the end of the day. Police aren't robots and aren't perfect, but as a group better than most
  • I know I come across as hostile and I'm sorry. I hope you, or people you love, do not become a victim of this type of tragedy. We both want the same thing. The innocent to be safe and those protecting us to be well informed and not dangering innocent people.

I really do apologize. I'm sorry. Neither of us want innocent lives taken.
  • It’s fine, i’m used to it. The truth is this is a horrible situation, and we should learn from it, because even by listening to the link where they interviewed the guy who called this in, he doesn’t even realize what he’s done and blames others, just shows how out of touch and devise the world’s gotten. Its a bad trend throwing blame around, we have more in common than different
  • It really is. I'm with you on that
  • If the Duke lacross and the Michael Brown incidents are any indication, how about waiting to find out what really happened before jumping to conclusions one way or the other?

One thing is for sure though, I hope that swatter and the others enjoy their lifetime criminal records!
  • Well, I will agree we should wait for the people that caused this to await their day. And I hope it is just.
  • This planet has too many people. We need a good old fashioned plague to thin the herds
  • Dude got arrested. Soon he'll be able to play Call of Booty:Black Cocks (or any other version) all the time in prison. Have fun!
  • Many lives have been ruined over something so stupid.

For everyone here, if the cops surround your house don't open the door. Call the police to find out what is going on. There could be a manhunt for a dangerous criminal in your yard going on.

I guess they have to wait until someone dies to take it seriously.

How does someone known for doing this get away with it for so long?
  • This makes me sick.

An uninvolved party is dead over a $1 bet because of a chain of complete idiots can't get a grasp that their actions have consequences.

The guy who gave the fake address deserves a shunning.

The guy who made the call deserves to be made an example of and should be charged with accessory to murder.

The guy who pulled the trigger deserves to be charged with murder.

The person in charge of that raid should be charged with gross negligence.

The chief of police should step down for hiring people so incompetent.

The police acedemy should fire their trainers.

So much idiocy had to happen for this man to die for no reason...
  • This blows my mind. Like I can't even believe what people get off on. I couldn't dream this in my wildest dreams and his call to 911 was so believable and the story was so gruesome, I cannot imagine this guy's mind...

    I can get behind this.

They're not going to tell you that on the phone.
  • I forgot all about this! How many years has it been?!

It's a relief that the caller was arrested. This was just a terrible situation.
  • I don't get how this waste of flesh wasn't locked up already..apparently he has a history of this kind of activity including calling in threats to schools and govt. offices. As far as the actual shooting here's the video https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=547_1514597848 Looks like the poor dude basically got shot for no reason from across the street.
  • That's whay I assumed. It's a fucking shame. These people need harsh penalties for getting people killed. The ones calling it in more than the cops.

Yes they will. Open lines of communication change everything.

If something is going on they will tell you to stay inside your house. Instead if they want you for some reason, then they will give you step by step instructions to follow so no one gets hurt.

Where I live, the people who answer the phone do not have knowledge about what is going on in the field. And this is on purpose. They don't know who's calling. Maybe it's the dangerous criminal in your yard or their accomplice. Maybe it's some kind of wannabe reporter. Giving out information on the phone like that goes completely against protocol.

This is what I would expect. It's way too much responsibility for the person answering the phone and difficult for that person to give accurate and current info when he/she isn't physically at the scene. To minimize liability issues for the accuracy of information relayed, they'd need someone way over-qualified just to answer the phones.
  • I'm sure the guy's lawyer loves that he did a Youtube interview and admitted to it on Twitter. Criminals aren't the smartest people I guess.
