3DS Not Reading Certain Games

Hey everyone, I am having trouble with my 3DS reading games. The problem is with some games, not every title. For some games I have to reinsert the cart a couple times and the system will finally detect a game being in the system but with my copy of Pokemon Omega Ruby I am getting the following:

And the game will not run at all, even though the system knows it is in there.

I have tried cleaning the games and the systems cart slot but the problem persist, and seems to be getting worse. All of the games I've tried are ones I purchased new, and the system was bought as a Nintendo Refirb from the online Nintendo store around late 2014 (I think.) I have looked online for a solution but there doesn't seem to be a concrete answer. Does anyone have any advise?

    My first thought is a counterfeit cart but if you bought it new it should not be. What other games are you having problems with?



    Do you have another 3DS or a friend with a 3DS to test to see if it is the cart?

    Pokemon is the only game I've had downright not boot, but I've had problems getting the following games to be read:



    Animal Crossing New Leaf

    Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer

    Fire Emblem Fates

    River City Ransom Rival Shodown



    I don't have access to another 3DS to test anything at the moment

    Maybe you could go to a local game store and ask to test with one of their 3DS'

    You have a memory card installed? My son's 2ds wouldn't play his brand new pokemon sapphire (or what ever it was) and wouldn't play at all but once I put in a memory card it worked just fine.

    Not unless it came with the system. I haven't made any modifications to the system. Could it be the systems card slot going bad?

    There are no such things as a bootleg 3DS cartridge at least at the time of this writing
