Shipping to Canada

Hello all,

I'm going to sell my collection little by little because sometime this year I'll have to relocate somewhere I'm not sure I'll be able to take all my games.

Anyway, I recently posted on the seller's forum my GBA collection of CIB games. Originally I said no international shipping, but I got some messages from people in Canada interested in buying (I'm based in the US).

My question to the experts is: What's the best cost-effective shipping method to Canada? I'm thinking about using USPS for that, but I'm not sure what would be the best way to ship.

Any knowledge you can share with me would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

  • You have to use USPS. Fedex or UPS will nail the buyer with import fees. Shipping to Canada is expensive no matter how you slice it, look out for your own ass and make sure you get shipping quotes before taking any payment.
  • Best method is USPS flat rate boxes. Go grab a bunch for free and have 1 of each size set up to see what you can fit. Same cost to ship anywhere in Canada, as much as you can fit, regardless of weight. Shipping to Canada is expensive. If I recall a medium flat rate costs about $43 USD.
  • Small flat rate box is what I usually reveive my purchases in. Of course I need to bundle up a bunch of games to make it worth the cost. I'm somewhat of a serious 3DO collector, and I can always get 5-6 games sent in for $24,95 USD. As long as it divides up to roughly $5CAD/game I still think I get good value.

  • Best method is actually a regular box shipped USPS First Class (if it's under 4 lb it can go first class). Much cheaper than Priority and still has a tracking number.
  • To use this same topic...

I'm trying to get stuff FROM Canada to usA. What is cheapest way?

One is a very large very heavy paper lot. The other memorabilia.

Haven't gone forward with it as owner says shipping is too costly
  • Mail it to someone in Michigan and then have them drive across the boarder and mail it.

Capt Morgan has the best solution. I have never paid more than $17 to ship to Canada.
  • Could end thread after USPS is mentioned.

It links (tracking) up with Canada Post, and is a bit more universal up hurr in Canada.
