Hey Guys

I bought my son a N64 and its hookded up to a LCD. (wifey wont allow CRT)... it works but always is a bugger to work.. you have to turn it off a zillion times,.....until the tv reads it.. my son said there was a box to concert the old signal to the new tv... is there such a thing????? any suggestios?

  • Most external HDMI converters are garbage. If you want the best picture quality possible with the lowest latency, you pretty much need the UltraHDMI mod installed.
  • Does your tv have s-video input? If so I would suggest you get s-video cable, you can get the Nintendo brand for fairly cheap. It is quite the improvement over composite.
  • Well...let's deal with the issue with turning the Nintendo 64 on and off over and over. It's not the TV, you need to clean the cartridge contacts with a q-tip with a bit of water / alcohol mixture. If you keep powering the unit on and off like that you could damage the hardware.
  • I second that, clean the system connector pins and cartridge pins
