DQ Builders might be something I get. Minecraft is okay in small doses to me but it needed purpose. Maybe with the RPG elements it would really be something for me. If I happen to see it when I get Bayonetta later today I might pick that up.
Totally agree with the above post. MC is fine in little bits but it is aimless.
Portal Knight and DQ Builders appear to be basically the same general game in design and concept, just one is their own thing and plot, and then the other uses the DQ world and enemies instead along with that beautiful Toriyama art. I cracked open Portal Knight yesterday evening and was wanting just to start it for an hour and I think I got into it between two to three unintentionally. It's solid. The only issue I can see but it's the style is that you need to harvest so much stuff and you can only carry and store (chests+you) so much. It'll get overwhelming with the updated tool sets making better things to wear and use needing more ingredients. Outside of that having an actual story, optional timed or not sub things to maybe do, and an actual sense of direction and accomplishment make these the better game to really enjoy. It's not just mindless digital lego but a merging of that with an action RPG style of game and it works great.
I've only seen Portal Knight talked about here so I have no idea what it is. I'll look into that as well. I have no attachment to Dragon Quest so if Portal Knight is basically the same it might be a better route depending on price. Does it have a manual?

Not that I noticed but I didn't look either. The game goes for $30 if I remember right so it costs less for certain.
Alright... I ended up going to GameStop, blah. Picked up Bayonetta 2 and Portal Knights. Bayonetta 2 has reversible cover art BUT the bottom half of the Bayonetta back cover has your download code for it. So even if you're a fan of that artwork, they made sure to make that case look ugly for you.
I don't know how many designs DQB has but Portal Knights has like a few dozen choices for constructing the characters both as male and female with lots of details. Also if you find an overly large map, you can also do a small one which really isn't that small either, so things are a little more manageable or palatable. I should fire it up again here, just afraid I'm going to get someone wanting something pulling me off it once it starts.
Looking at the Dragon Quest case, it was winning me over more than the bland style of Portal Knights... but the $20 cheaper price tag ultimately won my heart.
By how far Wolfenstein has been pushed back after it's release, I'm thinking the game will be pretty bad on Switch.
I doubt it, why would that make it bad? Just means they're working on it longer too make it better. Doom and Skyrim run great on switch, i think Bethesda knows what they're doin.
I need to take it easy... yesterday got DQ Builders, today picked up Tiny Barbarian and Skyrim, Bayonetta arriving on Tuesday (damn you Best Buy).
Yeah, been goin pretty hard this week too. Snapped up Bayonetta, DQ Builders, Portal Knights, Overcooked, Rocket League, Secret of Mana for PS4 and Radiant Historia for 3ds. Wallets hurtin!
I just feel like they're putting more time in to it to try to make it run on Switch, as in it's very diificult. The only other game that this has happened with so far is WWE 2K18. I don't think it would be that bad, but it just makes me feel like it's not porting like it should to Switch. Hey, i hope I'm wrong. I've passed on buying it because I want the Switch port to be good.
I saw WWE 2K18 had dropped down to $30 at GameStop. If it drops down to $20 I'll definitely buy it. I can at least do 1 on 1 matches decently... Or I wait until Black Friday this year and pick it up for Xbox.
Same, havent picked it up yet cuz i wanna play it on Switch! I'm sure it'll be good! It could maybe have somethin to do with Nintendo wanting to space out releases. Like maybe they just wanted to wait and drop it on a month they didnt have any other big releases in or somethin. I dunno tho.

I guess you were going for girth over length Dave. What are you trying to tell us?
Added Riding Champion to the above post. If you're having trouble AC I can ask someone like Jone or empire to edit it in
To be honest I haven't tried yet. I have a super long weekend coming up so I will work on it over the weekend. Any trouble I will let you know

...that thing, is not appealing to me. At all.
Has anyone else played Portal Knights? From what I've looked at briefly now it does appear to be basically the same as DQB but without the license.
Yeah, that's what's really tempering my excitement for the game.
The thing that is piqueing my interest, is the inclusion of 4-player "friends" online MP.
We'll see. I'll give it a go this weekend.
