Organizing Smaller Video Game Room
Hello,
Few years ago I finished off a great room for my retro stuff.. Had bookcases large tv stand and several consoles.... well my son needed a room for theropy so the room is now his.. sold my collection and cry. Over the last month I got the green light from the wifey to start over!! (in regards to game collecting lol)... I have a small collection started and she even divided a portion of her attic sewing room for my games area. It is not much and the ceiling is angled but its something. I would guess it is about 8 x 8 but has the slanted ceilings at about 4 foot from the floor so its not very useable after that. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations on organizing such a small area but still have the games accessible and organized? I am thinking of a lower tv stand as I am going to get a new tv... but as for storeage I am not sure..... suggestions? photos? I would appreciate it... I can buy or I can build.. pretty handy that way.
Thanks
Jim

another member had a similar style game room and his was pretty tricked out. I will try to find the thread.
If you’re handy, my dream has always been those high volume track shelves like you see in police stations in movies. Shelves lined up front to back one after another and you slide them sideways to actually create an opening. Maybe overkill for video games.
Floor to ceiling shelves are a must, none of those shelves that only take up most of the vertical space.
You mean horizontal space?
I've also seen those track shelves in the archives at the public library. I guess most people haven't, but it's just funny you mention it because I have been thinking about those myself this week.

There's always this if you're crazy:
Check out this thread too, there's a pretty extreme slanted ceiling: http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=174362
Whatever you do, post pics. Seeing how people make the most of their space is fun.
